Thanks as usual, ORAC … an interesting and disturbing read. The ‘culture’ of gratuitous violence can bee seen regularly on that “Caught on Dash-cam” TV programme … if in doubt, start throwing punches or hammers. Unlimited firearms and ammo just pours fuel on the fire.
Some very alarming statistics concerning the increase of (armed) crime in Russia. It's going to be very difficult to quell in the short term. Makes one wonder if the country won't become one gigantic bloodbath? My sympathies go out to the good Russian people.

yes, plus shifting police to Ukraine will not help and all those released convicts returning from the front providing they survive with new skills. A lot were Mafia gang types too. A recipe for a disaster in the making.

There’s currently a run on Russian banks and customer withdrawals are frozen. Rumor has it that banks are nationalizing & converting customer funds into war bonds, redeemable at a later date.
