Is Ukraine about to have a war?

”Ukraine now controls the junctions in Kharkiv city, Kupyansk, and Lyman -- the three blue circles. Note that this means that the route from Belgorod to Severdonetsk (the red circles) is cut, and there is no other direct rail line from Russia serving the Severdonetsk region.
Another consequence of this capture is that Belgorod is essentially useless to Russia as a staging point now. Previously they were occupying parts of Ukraine north of Kharkiv to protect Belgorod from Ukrainian artillery, but they are now said to be abandoning those positions”….

That Atlantic piece is very good. I hope the Elysée and the Bundeskanzleramt have read this para in particular:
"To prepare for Putin’s exit does not mean that Americans, Europeans, or any outsiders intervene directly in the politics of Moscow. We have no tools that can affect the course of events in the Kremlin, and any effort to meddle would certainly backfire. But that doesn’t mean we should help him stay in power either. As Western heads of state, foreign ministers, and generals think about how to end this war, they should not try to preserve Putin’s view of himself or of the world, his backward-looking definition of Russian greatness. They should not be planning to negotiate on his terms at all, because they might be dealing with someone else altogether."

Interesting admission from Russian "Vostok" battalion commander Aleksandr Khodakovsy who, discussing potential mobilisation, says it's not going to solve essential issues including lack of reconnaissance, EW, and lack of manpower is a more minor issue.

Plus, you have to train them all and that takes time, you then have the problem of a crap supply line.
Thinking back to WW2 and Germany trying to hide the existence of the Concentration Camps, they had a train with a hook on the back that they pulled down the centre of the track ripping the sleepers in half and destroying the railway to the camps, perhaps Ukraine wants to do similar and tear up any lines heading into Russia.

German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen announced Germany's plans to supply Ukraine with two IRIS-T air defense systems by the end of this year and two more at the beginning of next year. She said this in an interview with Radio NV, Reports Ukrinform.
"I am very pleased that we will transfer four such systems (IRIS-T – ed.) This will protect a large area of Ukraine. We have already heard that the first system will definitely be this year, I think, the second system too, and the third and fourth later, at the beginning of the new year," Feldhusen said.
As reported, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in an interview with German media on the eve of his visit to Germany recalled the announced delivery to Ukraine in October of the modern IRIS-T air defense system, which is now being manufactured, and said that Ukraine could make an order to receive 12 such systems to build a comprehensive airspace protection.

NutLoose: "Poor guy, regardless of sides."
Very reminiscent of the photo of a German soldier ground into the mud in Russia during WWII.
Aviation content: The Russians AF has also suffered loses not due to direct military action:

If in a minefield and you have enemy dead in front you run them over.
Just read some books about tanks in WW2. It's not very pleasant but there you are.
I try to look at war impartially. While such images are disgusting to us in war, they are quite common and not necessarily any indication of brutality.
The vehicle that drove over that body may not even been aware if at night, in battle etc. Of course, propaganda would have us believe otherwise.
