German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen announced Germany's plans to supply Ukraine with two IRIS-T air defense systems by the end of this year and two more at the beginning of next year.She said this in
an interview with Radio NV, Reports Ukrinform.
"I am very pleased that we will transfer four such systems (IRIS-T – ed.) This will protect a large area of Ukraine. We have already heard that the first system will definitely be this year, I think, the second system too, and the third and fourth later, at the beginning of the new year," Feldhusen said.
As reported, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in an interview with German media on the eve of his visit to Germany recalled the announced delivery to Ukraine in October of the modern IRIS-T air defense system, which is now being manufactured, and said that Ukraine could make an order to receive 12 such systems to build a comprehensive airspace protection.
