The NTSB stated a major cause of the accident was that all nine of the ground crew holding the steadying ropes were on the same side of the machine...

At Cardington the early trials did show promise for Airlander...the years were not kind however to the design..

The 4 pontoons are they in case of a Water Landing? ..
No they are the auxiliary batteries..for my mobile phone...whatever that is
