Most of my time in VC10s was spent sitting facing aft including a flapless landing into Akrotiri just after the invasion, which was a bit sporty and very noisy. I did get a ride in the RAE VC10 which was spent stooging around the North Sea in very nose high attitudes with the bit that kept it from falling off the thrust switched off or turned down or some such.

Now we have got the wing off I can see the problem. The dihedral is the wrong way up. Turn it over and put it back, it will fly better.
