Bloody hell boardbiker,

Haven't seen a Puma mentioned on this thread since page 1, or have I missed something.

Boring Biker

Barely remember anyone loading freight to the inside of a Puma as it's normally talking freight. Anyway, more than one person doing it would get in the way. In the big world I've had more fun loading Pumas into Hercs and Belfasts - beat that......

Blakey,

Seem to remember - Muppet inside sleeping bag, inside Puma, inside Belfast = excellent soundproofing = many hours of blissful sleep on long tedious journeys.Much better than a hammock in the back end of Albert.

Blakney

Exactly my point, it doesn't need muppets to load it.
Not impressed with what you've taken to Belize, some of us have been on Pumas and Hercs. Don't try and beat that as I'm not interested.
This sounds like a crinkle, sorry, not meant to.

50ft low level in a Puma.........that beats loading any feckin thing onto any feckin aircraft..........trust me And that's just one of the great things us aircrew get to do on a regular basis........but if winching sh!te up and down Albert's ramp floats your boat.....best you carry on

Biker

Who mentioned Belize?

ABIW

Yeah, just like you I've whistled around at 50' as a passenger and enjoyed every minute of it. Winching does nothing for me especially that cr@p on the J. Funniest recollection was of a Loadie attempting to winch out a cabin for TCW at Brize and wondered why it went thundering out once he'd ran the cabin wheels over the cable and severed it. Happy days...

Love the comment re the pay bands.

It must have something to do with the mentality!

Like my first trip across the pond.

Being the good mover that I was purported to be, once out of the climb, I dutifully removed my flying boots, got my green maggot out, and stretched out on the seats by the Para-door for a well earned kip. I mean, I had been awake for nearly 2 hours by this stage.

Some time later in the flight, I was shaken awake by the Loadie, and told that my hot meal was ready up the front.

B@stard had super glued the zip on my maggot.

After I finally extricated myself, I found that the one and same B@stard had super glued my boots to the floor.

Different pay bands my @rse.

Enjoyable rants that just go on, No expert on modern life in the mob but had a great time on the lash acting like a muppet for a few years, thought seriously about going for ALM purely for finacial reasons but found the real money is in civvy street. I have only ever come across a few ex loadies that have made it in the aviation sector but there are plenty of ex movers in all the major airlines, handling agents, operations, DFT etc etc which speaks for itself.

Cringe at the thought of flying more than 6 hours without a flatbed, sleepsuit and as much champagne as I can get down my neck.

CCS,
Thanks for that post but as you can see this thread is entitiled " Movers v Loadie's" so handling agents and all the other pond life muppets aspire to can hardly be used as a starting point in here ...........or we could lead off with the large number of our bretheren who have go on to actually "drive" or shape yours and my future and the like

So take the "bitch in here" as strictly movers v loadies and life will be cool ...........and lots more fun

Unfortunately an open forum is just that and if the headlining topic is deviated from or does not suit you - unlucky.

Im sure you would like to have more command of your little thread and wish there were some similar antiquated QR styley control to it- but freshen up and move as the debate evolves instead of sitting on your old sandbag gripping at the fact you have little or no prospect of securing a prominent position after life as a dope on rope, why not ask for some familiarization training with the friendly movements trade and give yourself a chance.

CCS,

I rather thought that all the vitriol and nastiness on this thread had been left behind some time ago.
If you want to banter then keep it light else you'll be ignored.Fair enough ?
Have fun.

CCS,

What with the new PA Spine and the revised terms for pension I see myself retiring at 55 so no need to worry about the afterlife

I hope you continue to enjoy life in your pj's and whatever the steward asks you to gargle!! however heed the advice offered and let us proffesional movers and loadies carry on with our banter

ML,

Why does stating the bleedin obvious somehow question my mentality We are all reimbursed for what we do and if you do something of value and importance you get lots and if you just shovel sh!te you don't......................I know which bracket I fall into.......do you?

Well look at this way...........If some didn't shovel **** then others, like your good self, wouldn't be able to haul it. So where would that leave you. Sh!tless and penniless no doubt cos there would be no job for you.Anyway, stop rabbiting on about money, cos not only is it vulgar but quality of life is much more important.

ABIW,

It is now daylight so things may become a bit clearer.

" if you do something of value and importance you get lots and if you just shovel sh!te you don't....."

" If some didn't shovel ****.......then others, like your good self, wouldn't be able to haul it.

So we are agreed that Muppets shovel sh!te (and most of them don't get paid enough for doing it) so that you can get on your merry way to wherever.

Now,pray tell, what is it that you do that is of such value and importance that you feel compelled to look down on others ?

The way I see it - the Muppets sort out things down the back, the two up the front get you to wherever. Where does Mr Loadie come into the equation. I'm not going to be juvenile and crack on about coffee making and pie eating cos this is a friendly thread.
