Qatar stopped calling talent pool Airbus candidates from FEB, rumors that they wont call next year, have you heard any information?

Apparently so. This is so they can upgrade internally and circumvent the issues with DECs from a certain country who are causing many headaches.

If you have sufficient hours on jets you join as FO but FO in the company wears 2 stripes. After 3 years you promote to senior FO with 3 stripes.

Fake licenses are a big problem is QR, let them fire another 5 or 6 guys from “those” countries and they will eventually resume hiring.. well that is not entirely correct, the problem are not even “those” countries, but their Aviation Authorities. So they should ban holders of their licenses.

The main reason is that they over recruited, and it takes time to train pilots. But stories on fake licenses are crazy.

Also pay attention to the current situation. Qatar Airways is not expanding so fast like in the past.

2024 should be a slow year. They have basically some 787s to be delivered. On the Airbus fleet probably nothing for 2024, almost all the grounded A350s have resumed flying and maybe a couple of A35K here and there to be delivered new from factory.

So hiring will naturally be slower. I suspect it to be mostly focused on FOs for the Boeing fleet and very few on the Airbus fleet. Most likely no more DECs for the foreseeable future, but don't take my word for it. It's just what it seems based on their deliveries for 2024. Attrition rates also play a role on their manpower needs, but this is impossible to predict.

If you become a pilot at QR don't forget to do the nauseating scripted preflight annoucements to the pax. And of course don't forget to prefix "Qatar Airways" with "the award winning" in all annoucements too.

I dont think so, even continue hiring, there are tons of candidates in the pool since March 2023
