Is the 737 really such a short straw? At least there's no bunk factoring.

Knowing how QR operates, of course that would happen. I would not apply to QR expecting to fly a widebody, at least now at the present time.

Anyone else got an email asking for documentation(that was already uploaded in the application) then couldnít re-upload it into the system? The application IT system seems really poor and comms very slow, not sure what to think about the time itís taking. Apparently they are desperate for pilots but canít process applications timely?!?

That's kind of strange, people usually after the assessment in Doha wait for the positive or negative feedback email.

Are you applied awaiting an interview or have you been hired and in the pool awaiting a course date?
In either case, might a request to update your documents mean progress toward your next step?
You could try emailing to ask them.

Is there any news for Boeing Rated FO? Does they recruit at the moment or everything stopped?

Hi mate,
Hope youíre well. I have applied in March for Boeing rated FO. The link in the email to re-upload doesnít work. The application in itself had a small MB size limit for docs so I obviously reduced size/compressed etc. However it was all tested before submitting. I have emailed them the documents and have emailed again asking if they received it and everything was okay but no response. Not sure if they stopped recruiting, I very much would like to go there but is taking so long, Iím considering other options.
They are losing candidates that way in a very competitive, candidate led market.

I think they have a sizeable turnover of pilots normally and are expecting a bit of an exodus towards the end of this year early next hence keeping the talent pool full of swimmers. Definitely a few resignations from new joiners her didn't like being switched to the 737 max.

One can wonder if taking the bite and siting on the MAX could mean faster command as a right seat driver? Does anyone know what is the current average time to command on the stablished fleets? Certainly in this new one, for those with the experience level, could be faster?! Speculative, obviously.

Houndreds of FO have enough hours and are waiting for their call on all fleets. Forget about upgrade in QR. It takes more than 9 years, if you are lucky enough. Regardless of your fleet. Airbus -> Boeing, Boeing -> Airbus transfers, depends solely on company need. Mix fleet is being slowly prepared for those who are on 777 and 787 to maximize efficiency of roster planning and reduce menpower needs, however itís gonna take time to train all 777 and 787 pilots.

Yes it looks like they have finally seen the light and start upgrading FO's instead of taking these unqualified DEC's. No need to have a fallback pool, there are indeed hundreds of qualified FO's ready to be upgraded.
