Anyone know if they’ve opened up recruitment onto the 777 / 787 for DEC’s. I know they were hiring onto the 737 for DEC’s and doing internal upgrades. Or any future plans to?

You’ll get on 777/787 if you have appropriate experience and type rating. They never stopped hiring TR DEC on widebodies.

if you're from a country they don't want.. you'll either be rejected or never called.. you getting called is only because they couldn't find anyone.. again.. plz let us know if they hire you.. racism and regionalism is at peak in QR..

From pool i don’t know… however 2 of my previous colleagues did the selection in Doha back to Nov-Dec 2022 and have received positive answers about 2/3 weeks later TOGETHER with an immediate start date (within 1 month of the positive outcome email) for DEC widebody (no previous experience on wide)

Same for all my previous colleagues back to 2014/2015/2016 for FO position. Positive outcome email come almost together with a starting date for all…

Yes. If you have 777/787 TR and end up in the holding pool, there is a high chance they will call you on WB fleet once they have enough training capacity.
The situation is unpredictable. Someone can wait for more than a year meanwhile his batchmate passed the assessment 2 months ago.

I have been in the holding pool for 9 months, I have a friend that has been in the holding pool since Feb 2023, and another since May 2023. I am not sure what the exact reason for being in the pool for so long. I’m guessing a training backlog.

If you are talking about Airbus TR candidates, then there is no demand for them at the moment, though they say it’s a training capacity or whatever. Next deliveries are expected as early as 2026. I am personally in the pool since April 2023 and I don’t expect any offer any time soon. As for Boeing, it’s most likely the training capacity as they say, so you have to wait it out.
