It could be swatson that your too bright. And through this thread they don't seem to be going near folk that would have to bang out of thier degrees without completing them. Which they are doing you a favour with.

I know of a few people who really are on top to their game and got rejected by CTC. I also know of some rather more inept people who have got through with CTC.
There will always be the sneaking suspicion in my head that CTC didn't thoroughly screen all the applications (even though they took the longest to disseminate results!), and once they had the required number, they discarded the rest.
If I were to apply again I have the feeling that applying to FTE or OAA would be a wiser option with a more just selection process.
But hey, maybe thats just the bitterness in me spewing out!
All the best

Guys, the selection process at this stage is based more on personality, motivation and also a bit of luck. I wouldn't get too hung up on qualifications....everybody has them!
For what it's worth mad_jock I have been put through to the final stage and I will be leaving my degree if I get over this last hurdle.
I wish everybody who hasn't been successful the best of luck!

Grades grades grades and top universities zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. All very good and well done, but! Can I sit in a telephone box with you for 12 hours, then get to a hotel, have a beer, and do the same for the next 12 hours the following day? Airlines don't want robots.

Swatson your academic record is excellent and I am sure you will reach your
dream. I hope you do. However, I doubt any one who applied for the FPP had your academic performance and so it would be very easy for BA and the FTO's to "know you" exactly , by your application.I wonder whether you were rejected because you are not meant to be publicising details of your application. Next time, therefore, consider this please, if you wish to fly for BA as it just may be that not following that simple instruction cost you this time.Give yourself every chance young man!

Hi People, question here.
Being a non-UK citizen, I don't have a NI number. I think this won't be a problem for them.
But about the UK NARIC stuff, I don't even know if my bachelor degree is recognized in the UK and if not, I won't have the certificate ready on time. It was ok for FTE selections, but now for final stage do you think they can throw me away ?

The competitive nature of the scheme with many high quality candidates means that many people who have very good qualifications and experience are not going to get through.
And academic qualifications are not the be all and end all, they certainly help and they will get your foot in the door, you have to open the rest yourself using other skills you have.
Its just the way it is as there are only a limited number of spaces so not everyone can get through, even if they are likely to be suitable for the position.

Very competetive scheme yes, but it does seem rather telling that many (albeit self-claimed) strong candidates were refused by CTC, but we aren't hearing the same thing about FTE and OAA at all. I think people would be forgiven for suggesting that CTC perhaps weren't as thorough.

yeah, I was at the FTE assessment and I haven't heard back yet. The nerves are building, I'm starting to think that its only rejection emails left to be sent. hopefully not! Who did you do your assessment with?

Perhaps it might just ease the nerves and help pass the time if we played a little game in the time-honoured way. I'll make a suggestion and you just shout out, "hot! or, "cold!" after each.
So let' start, shall we?
Stage 2 aptitude tests:
Did it involve unicycling or Morris Dancing?

Rhcriad Bsranon,
I think that asking the applicants to re-live the process would only bring back the horror rather than ease tension. Plus: given the bizarre nature of the selection process, I fear that your method would take too long to be useful.
Uncannily however, it involved both unicycling AND Morris Dancing, whilst negotiating a Crystal Maze-style labyrinth. I won’t give too much information about the route, but I can reveal that – to test the candidate’s reaction to stressful situations – it involved negotiating land mines, actors playing irate airline passengers, and BA staff throwing raw meat (all whilst unicycling). Of course, I can only speak for my FTO.
I don’t want to go into too much more detail as I don’t want to jeopardise my appl…..
Oh no, what have I done?!

Anyone else slightly annoyed that OAA sent out the positive emails for stage 4 on Monday but waited until Friday afternoon to send out the rejections? Any chance they want to avoid giving people feedback after paying £200 for the privilege?

Finally got the rejection email from OAA just now. Disappointed yes, as I thought I performed well at all stages, I was only just on the boundary in terms of academic requirements, perhaps that had something to do with it. Better luck next time I guess !

High-Higher - sorry to hear that. I have also just recieved the dreaded rejection, but i knew it was coming. I was'nt myself on the assesment day and I think it was a case of wanting it too much that let me down!!
I like to think I'm pretty self-aware, so although feedback would be amazing, I can live without it as I'm sure where i fell over on the day!
Chin-up fellow rejects, we're now more prepared for next year, we'll have more money in our banks and get to spend another year with friends and family (albeit at the expense of forfeiting another year from the dream)!!
Best of luck to all those still in the game
