I agree, BA have achieved all they originally wanted, and possibly more.
They need do nothing other than wait patiently for Bassa to implode while the crew have no effective representation, and no likelihood of pay deals etc.
The Bassa faithful are perched on the brink of the cliff like lemmings waiting for the reps to say "jump".
The other thing that will happen at next monday's meeting is that DH may propose that the sacked reps are allowed to continue even though no longer employed by BA.
This would require a change to the Bassa constitution but can, I believe, be done on a show of hands (incredibly!!). Who would dare to vote against???
Interesting parallels with Scargill and the NUM. Although that has ended badly.
Didn't he do a great job for the miners? NOT!!!

Has no one else spotted the part of the BASSA "news"letter that BASSA are publicly saying BA have mistakenly not taken staff travel off everyone....
Could this be their way of explaining away the difference of BAs figure of 4900 and their figure of 7000?. Basically, according to BASSA, BA is so incompetent that they've forgotten to remove staff travel from 2100 strikers.
Presumably these 2100 strikers also got paid during the dispute, as if BA hasn't removed their staff travel they must have paid them as well, because they didn't spot they were on strike.
I'm going out on a limb here, maybe they didn't lose staff travel because they didn't go on strike?? No, that can't be true, BASSA says they did.

The BA figures come from no show statistics not how many they have removed staff travel from.
Some crew have not got letters saying their staff travel has been removed but I think if they tried to use it they may have a problem.

Hi Bettygirl
I think that WW said at the employee forum that the figures were taken from pay roll deduction figures. From there the removal of ST figures followed? Therefore, everyone who withdrew their labour and had pay deducted has now lost staff travel.
These 2100 figures are again a figment of DH imagination as seems to be the case with all BASSA comms at the moment. He clearly thinks his membership don't have the intelligence to question all his fairy tales?

I shouldn't worry much longer. Apparently Christopher Biggins (partner of BA crew, but no coincidence, rest assured) has called for our CEO to go so I should imagine wide-ranging and radical change is coming imminently. Another heavy-hitting pro-BASSA supporter to add to the proud ranks of those extant.
The momentum is building now as I understand the Chuckle Brothers' press office is preparing a statement for immediate release pledging their support for the plight of the BASSA brothers and sisters.

More bullying tactics.....
You must be phsycic dilldog01? DH has sent out his latest posting to intimidate those who may be questioning the cult! If some of the sacked/suspended crew displayed the bullying and intimidating tactics employed by their 'role model' DH is it any wonder they are in the position they find themselves?
Also, anyone who is still paying BASSA subs but came to work why don't you save your money and join PCCC. This is what happens to those who defy the cult! Threats and more threats!
Personally I have strong views about strike breakers staying within the union but there is nothing in the rule book that says they have to leave or be made to leave. However there are some who are actively working against the union and that is a much more serious issue. We have already seen how "Del C Diner" - aka CSD xxxx xxxxx - came on this forum stirring up unrest only then to take the thread he started to TonyMcCarthy with the result a loyal member was suspended. Without a doubt anyone who actually helps BA break the strike (other than turning up for work) should be outed and asked to resign. I give you an example that has just come to light -
Recently BA managers put out the following to crew
"We need some willing volunteers to participate with some volunteeer cabin crew upskilling sessions- we are looking for 3-4 friendly crew per day who would class as experts to work with the brands and customer experience teams to improve the VCC’s confidence levels. It would be nice for us to have some SCCM’s but this is available to all crew. If you are interested please get back to me asap ...."
If any BASSA member is seriously thinking of volunteering for this then I would like them to immediately resign. We do not want you in our union and you forfeit your right to be a member.
Again folks, unless you are really sure your handle is not known to BA, be careful how you respond to this thread.

JAL to retire 103 aircraft, cut 16,000 jobs in financial turnaround
And Bassa are in dispute about what exactly? Are we still talking about the return of ST and pushing a trolley.
Outside there is a very real world.

Is it any wonder that DH has let it all go to his head when we say exchages like the following on the BASSA forum (regarding a letter disparaging BASSA found in a briefing room):
DH:
I have seen this document. I don't like really commenting on anonymous letters reasoning that it only helps to authenticate it but I will say this much.
BA are behind this and are using the PCCC to do their dirty work.
It is full of untruths, including my earnings from Unite (half of which I HAVE given back since elected in 1998), the value of my house (£1m I wish, according to the Mail it was £450,000) and my pension which is nothing like £27,000 (unfortunately). There are plenty more lies too!
However, if anything the fact BA are trying to "smear" me this way tells me I am doing something right.
Thanks for all your support.
Fawning lackey:
Hey Duncan!! Yes, you are clever, you are strong, intelligent and you have nerves!! Everything they inspire to be!! Ha! Fat chance!!!'
With that kind of unthinking, uncritical hero worship no wonder he's starting to believe his own hype. And yet he only just seems to be grasping that no matter what he does, he'll never work for BA again.

DH upto his old tricks again - trying to hurt BA's forward bookings at the busiest time of year is not going to win any sympathy from WW... I wonder when the patience will run out ?

When will BASSA and DH eventually realise it is over, done, finished. They are an irrelevance, insignificant and well past their sell by date. if only they had shown any foresight, forward thinking and just a tiny bit of commercial nous. They belong in a previous decade and some of the reps are actually quite nasty.

Duncan's Pension
Duncan made the comment:
There is absolutely no dispute that his pensionable pay when he "left" BA was £43000. If you look at a contemporary still on a full time contract who has done possibly 35 years and made normal decisions throughout their career, their pension entitlement would be 35/52 of £43000 if they had stayed in APS, the old and much revered Airways Pension Scheme and not converted to NAPS for a lump sum payment in the 80's .
That is a pension of approx £28000 pa
That could also be less but that would mean that one had taken an equivalent 25% tax free lump sum on "retirement" that reduced the annual payment.
Any pension could be in APS with unlimited inflation protection for life.
With that in mind, is anybody surprised Duncan tendered his resignation before the disciplinary procedure terminated his contract that would merely return his pension contributions.
Always like to add a bit of fact when I can.

I agree with your figures, however.......
DH admitted on the Victoria Derbyshire show that he had already taken his pension prior to being dismissed by BA.
In recent years, that last 10 at least I have not known of BA being vindictive enough to strip anyone of their pension by returning employee contributions only upon dismissal.
PS ,DH actually wanted, even engineered "the sack", it makes one more of a martyr in the eyes of the naive and vulnerable

A possible threat of another strike over Christmas should be enough for WW to want to reach a settlement with us.
Nobody wants a strike but there are thousands of us will walk out at Christmas if necessary. I am one of those and I will not hestitate a second to do it.

I don't think WW could care less when you are threatening your next strike, we managed to operate an 80% LH, 60% SH schedule last time with probably a third of the VCC workforce we have now. Not forgetting all the New Fleet crew that will be newly trained and ready to go. BASSA have managed to lose their members staff travel, hundreds in earnings and also managed to prove how dispensible they are.
I don't want a strike over xmas either as I have leave, which I will have to cancel - but I won't hesitate for a second!
