What happens now?
We are balloting on the fact that BA made changes to our terms and conditions without Bassa's agreement, changes that Sir Christopher Holland has stated BA was legally entitled to make.
Can Bassa now call a strike?

BA statement on High Court ruling
We are extremely pleased with today’s High Court ruling that the
modest changes we made to onboard crew numbers on flights from
Heathrow were reasonable, did not breach crew contracts and can remain
in place.
Unite’s central demand over the last three months has been that we
reverse these changes, despite the severe financial impact this would
have on the company at a time when we are facing a second year of
record annual losses.
Unite’s arguments as to why the changes should be reversed have been
considered in great detail by the Court – and rejected.
Unite brought this case to Court. We believe it should reflect on the
Court’s decision rather than impose an unnecessary strike on the
travelling public.
Talks continue under the auspices of the TUC.

Well, BASSA have absolutely nought left in the locker other than rhetoric and the outcome of the ballot. I have little doubt that the ballot result will be a YES vote and Malone will spin that into a 'peaked merangue'. What will be underneath the soft and gooey topping? Cold and harsh reality that BASSA are spent.

Your statement should read that you would be better of without THIS union.
BASSA and Amicus are on this together
Yes. Even though the changes to CC working practices are legal, BASSA is entitled to oppose them and call for IA in support of that opposition.
Whether they would be wise to do so is another matter.
Three straight defeats in the courts, an overwhelming defeat in the PR war, and behind on points in the struggle for hearts and minds with other BA employees. If BA can break any strike, then the playing field will be permanently altered for BASSA. They really might be better off saving their firepower for a fight which actually counts.

Andy S, BASSA's firepower is spent. They have, sadly, been exposed on all counts, as witless and inept in all that their reps have touched over this issue. Unless there is wholesale change in the BASSA representation, Willie Walsh and the BA LT will always trump UNITE. Simply, there are more able (with more ability (acumen)) people managing BA now (thank goodness), than there are in opposition (erm, apart, maybe, from BALPA).
Simples.

WOW with less than a week to go until the massive YES vote arrives i am getting so excited and with the bonus of a High Court topup around the same time. The media are taking a turn away from BA from what i have read in recent days so let us wait and see what the future brings. Cranebank has many eyes and ears and that is what a democratic system in this country allows or have i said too much.
Wonder if your strike will turn out to be an equally damp squib?

Great news! Well done to all concerned.
Now they're freed from the threats of 1970s unionism let's hope BA employees can get back to rebuilding their airline into the World class carrier that they once were.

I agree 95% with you. The one thing they can still fall back on is industrial action, but this would require that any strike is solidly supported by the cabin crew for as long as it takes.
Should such support be lukewarm and the strike broken quickly, then yes, they would have lost the last weapon in their armoury. That's why I said the playing field would be permanently altered. If BASSA proceed with IA but it fails, they will be a busted flush. Willie Walsh will know that BASSA can no longer hold the company to ransom, that if BA are resolute then the cabin crew will back down. That's why the shrewd thing might be for BASSA to call the whole thing off. Recent history, however, suggests that "shrewd" is not in the BASSA vocabulary.

listen
Triple x you obviously didnt listen she catagorically said they were NOT funded by BA
That apart , as a militant poster in the past where do you see your position now?
What are BASSA feeding you right now? Will it be the injustice of the decision or perhaps Justice Holland will be exposed as having booked a BA flight in March?
I can only imagine the posts on the BASSA forum now but how many of them will actually have assesed the situation and point a reasonable way forward?
Have you got one apart from striking over an issue you have lost?

Radio 5
Well done 'Chris' - I think you were right to stick to your guns & not answer the question on pilots.
The answer is too complicated to explain clearly, under pressure, to listeners who are unfamiliar with the history of the dispute.
I'm sure you're now thinking "Damn, wish I said...."etc, but you did well under some fairly unsympathetic questioning.

Not now Triple X. The time for unfounded nonsense is over. Deal in facts please and post when so armed.

Edited to add: Andy S, agreed. However; Wille Walsh is ready for the next roll of BASSA's dice.
