I agree 95% with you. The one thing they can still fall back on is industrial action, but this would require that any strike is solidly supported by the cabin crew for as long as it takes.
Should such support be lukewarm and the strike broken quickly, then yes, they would have lost the last weapon in their armoury. That's why I said the playing field would be permanently altered. If BASSA proceed with IA but it fails, they will be a busted flush. Willie Walsh will know that BASSA can no longer hold the company to ransom, that if BA are resolute then the cabin crew will back down. That's why the shrewd thing might be for BASSA to call the whole thing off. Recent history, however, suggests that "shrewd" is not in the BASSA vocabulary.
