HIIIIII!!!!!
Bluestars It's going really well thank you, my trainers are a very good laugh, and they're very professional at the same time. Did you see the video "While we are together....."? I cried after that!!!! Gives you an idea of how I feel

We should be in uniform from next wednesday, I am actually at cranebank tomorrow but just for one day. We'll be doing SEP from wednesday 28th.
I am too in the old uniform (and I am the only one in my course.....bugger!!) because the guy in the uniform store couldn't find me any size 6 skirts/trousers. BUt mind you, I am happy I am gonna get to wear both The new one is very sexy though

Please if you're around doing your customer training and you would like to have a coffee/beer whatever in the evening, please do contact me!!! I am in NE 405 course EF LGW. Most of the guys/girls in my course are really, really nice and very funny!!!!

Let me know how it proceeds....for me it's going to be the 3rd different fire drill in less than 2 years....confused??? Naaaaaaa......

Ciao!!!

How many CC are BA planning to recruit? The last deadline for Cabin Crew applications was the 14th July however, this seems to have been extended to 28th July according to their Careers website. Have many people left?

regards

I cant remember if i saw that video or not??? was it one of the first ones and they played a pop song to it???

there are 3 of us in the old uniform... and all of us size 6 and below in the uniform... so i have been given 2 skirts/1 jacket/1 gilet/3 blouses to manage on.... and was told 3-4 weeks for the uniform...im not holding my breath though!!! especially as the other girl who is same size as me was told 6 months at the earliest!!!!

ahhh you poor thing having to unlearn all your old stuff...at least i am completely new to all this BRACE BRACE stuff etc.... cant think what my course number is might be NE326 but not entirely sure!!!

do you live by LGW then?? 2 weeks in the aurora...man that could drive you nuts!!! but im sure you will be busy studyin at night..

hope to see you round cranebank then.... im on SEP tomorrow... coffee is about all in can affford right now... !!?

ciao for now .... Bluestars

Pavel Nedved- Bad Advice!!
AJ - Do not lie on your application. Aviation is a small world and you will be found out. Besides your age gives it away normally. This WILL lead to disciplinary action, as too does missing info from or fibbing on your medical document. Your flying experience and graduation are enough. Get your application in and Good luck!

Bidding for trips is not guaranteed.

Standbys for shorthaul are at the airport so commuting may not be ideal.

Leave is split into 3 groups and the priority rotates.

BA are still recruiting a further 600+ crew for LHR & LGW.

The pay at LHR will soon become similar to LGW.

Uniform stores are under pressure as they werent fully aware of how many new crew recruits are joining. Sizes up to 8 and over 14 are limited so there are delays with those but the stores are doing everything they can. Please be patient.

Good Luck to anyone joining!

did you mean to say that pay at LGW will soon be the same as LHR? or are they planning to cut the wages of LHR staff!! Like to see them try!

Bluestars....it was not the very first video, but the one about prejudices.....the music was very slow and calming, and the film was about events happening to people, at the same time, in different places in the world!!

"While we are here together..." was linking the guy in singapore having a drink in a bar at night (he was the captain of a big ship) and a girl flying her aeroplane in the USA, a man in Nice who was late for his son's football match and a guy in Portofino who was about to ask his girlfriend to marry him, etc....
I cried. Too beautiful.
I know I am too bloody sensitive, but if you think that I wanted to fly for BA since I was 14, and ten years later here I am!!!!

I am really tired though today. It was quite hard in the cabin trainer today, even for me that I've been flying for 2 years!!

I hope it all goes well for you, hope to see you at cranebank on the 28th and after!!

Ciao

121-

From the horses mouth unfortunately. Apparantly next year will see changes to something more like an hourly rate.

Not sure if it will happen, but we were told it will phase out the meal triggers and rates as the taxman is not happy with it. It wouldnt save BA any money so its not in their interest.

Again, like anything, this could be just in discussion at the mo, and may never happen, but it was an unusual thing to announce.

Watch this space.

You wait until you see the final video set to soniques sky song. Will have you in tears from the pride. Tissues ready on your final day!!!.

Good luck.

So its true then i heard that too! i am just about to join BA, cousre date in sept, am with a major airline at the mo and am worried about getting stuck in the "no money world" again! even if BA would consider an hourly rate, i still hope it will be worth while! if not... we are F**ked!

Anyone starting EF LHR on 13th sept?

well yes there has been lots of talk over the last few years of an hourly rate but as far as I know the union have not had any kind of substantial talks on the subject with the airline. It's true that the taxman does want a bigger share of our flight allowances and i'm sure he will get it (not to much doubt about that) but as yet the hourly rate is not an absolute certainty.

FLOATY

Floaty....
remember the long long hours spent trying to memorise emergency drills for the test....and forgetting them soon after????
The course at BA is completely different, they throw you into it straight away, SEP drills are ONLY PRACTICAL, and as a consequence, much more difficult. But hey they instill them into you in a way that you would dream about them at night.

VERY very good training.
This is my 4th training course and the best of all.

I had the ditching drill yesterday and GOD if it felt real.
Let me know how it goes, cozza!!!! If you need anything let me know. No manuals, only brains!!!

Ciao!!#

richxby gr8t news on getting an interview

Just be yourself and dont try to be the "role" model

Check out the BA web site for business plans and also for the product side of things.

BA is BIG on cost saving at the mo however they still want to provide good service to their customers

the interview consists of a few parts mainly to see how you interact with others dont get stressed by the maths bit do what u can and moove on they r looking for prioritising here that cud be sed for all their tests i think but then it was a few years ago since i did the tests (be aware though the other candidates will be competing and try to make you look less competent than them does that make sense?)

If you donnt understand any part of the process ASK!!!!

Because there will be others that would liked to have asked the question but didnt feel confident o do so and remember no question is silly... if you want to know the answer to a burning issue.......

If you have worked in any kind of service industry ( Maccys D`s to Fortnum and Mason`s ) you have valuable skills that we need

enuff sed goood luck anyway hope to fly wiv ya on line!!!!!

Again just be yourself!!!!

you'll be glad to hear that there's no math test....
the 2 to 1 interview is pretty tough though....be prepared with LOTS of examples of your past experiences!!!!

Well done!!!

Hi Guys

I've got a date for an assessment day and a rather unusual question.

I've planned to take a PPL (Private Pilot's Licence) course in the US; it lasts for approximately 3-4 weeks starting at the end of September. If succesful, would BA consider placing me on a later course, must you agree to their course start date? Would this affect the base I applied for (eurofleet/LHR) ?

I could always change the PPL course to another date, but I'd still need to find a spare month to do it in.

cheers
