uniform fitting

hi everybody! I do need your help: I have an appointment to fit the uniform on July 5th, I was given the address when I called, but since I am not English I am not sure of the spelling... this is what I understood: MAGELLAN TERRACE, COVERY PARK, GATWICK ROAD, CRAWLEY RH 9PJ.
Is that right? Please, help me!
Diego

That's right. It's easy to find. Look for the Excel Airways head office in the Manor Royal estate and the BA Uniform Stores are behind it. You can get a bus (number 10 IIRC) from Gatwick Airport (far left of the North Terminal).

Ask the bus driver as lots of crew use the bus to get there, so he/she might know. Alternatively, pop in to Jubilee House and ask at reception. They MIGHT be able to provide transport for you to get there (and you can get the bus back).

starting date

Hi everybody,
I was supposed to start the training at Gatwick on 10th July, but I have just been told they can't allow me to start as they haven't received all of the references. They also said they can't give e any other satrting date until all of my references are received.
Soooo sad!!

Do you know when the following courses start?
Thanks

Find out which references they're waiting for and GO AFTER THEM YOURSELF.

When I applied to BA, I had to offer references from Australia and New Zealand. I made the offer to get those references myself and the recruitment team allowed it.

I called my old employers, got the references faxed to BA and voila!

Don't give up - take the initiative and do some legwork yourself.

GOOD LUCK

Oh dear!! That not nice to hear..Sorry to hear that matey...

I kind of had the same problem...Tried to contact one of my old employers but for some reason they wouldn't answer the phone...the lady at BA had to call 16 times....NOTHING!!! So I had to go down to the shop myself and make them call her infront of me!!!!

And it happened with my school too!!! My headmaster would not return any of the calls!!! So I went down there made him call her infront of me...Then I went BACK to the school and made him fill in the form infront of me (YES I DID MAKE HIM!!! I TOLD HIM I'D TELL ALL HIS DIRTY SECRETS TO THE SCHOOL BOARD!! LOL)

Finally sorted out...you've just gotta persue them. Be a NAGGER!! Trust me...it works!!

Hope you get training soon!!!

Any clue if BA will start recruiting for LHR anytime soon? I'm a bit confused with the whole situation LGW vs. LHR at the moment.

Thinking of applying to LGW, but would rather work from LHR...

Yes, they are recruiting at the moment to LGW. Check out their website...

By the way, would really appreciate if someone could give an example of LGW roster .

Again, Nordic, a Gatwick roster wouldn't do you much good. Nobody has done any of the mixed-fleet flying yet so all you'll get is a shorthaul roster which will really offer very little in the way of what you could expect when operating there.

There are lots of figures bouncing about - I've heard that you'll do a guaranteed one long-haul a week, though you may sometimes do more.

To be honest, if I didn't commute from Aberdeen, I'd join Gatwick. It'll be hard work, but it'll probably also be fantastic fun. I also doubt that the pay will be as bad as people try to make out. It'll be a great little base.

Eddy is right, there hasnt been any kind of normal roster at lgw for a few months now and there wont be for a while, most people have very quiet rosters at the moment, with some being rostered up to 10 days off that i've heard of. Its tough money wise as if we arent flying we arent earning but then compared to last august i'm a lot happier as i'm actually getting time off where I wont just have to recover.

We will be able to bid for long/shorthaul so hopefully rosters wont be that bad, i'm gonna spend a few months trying to work out a bid that combines domestic nightstops with longhaul succesfully!
