BA has been recruiting since January (according to the info given by them at the company info session)!

They also say that if you are not successful this time you have to wait a year before you can reapply. But give it a shot maybe they won't even realize!

Good luck,

Up in the sky - Yep it is usually a week, you can always call them when a week has passed and they should be able to tell you if your letter has gone out. They cannot disclose the outcome though. Be prepared though if you are offered, as you may have a few months to wait until you can start, and may not be given a start date until a few weeks after your letter.

Is anyone out there on June courses??

Smile BA July courses

Hello everyone,
I've been on this site for months but never realised there's a forum just for cabin crew-WOW!

I am currently working for FCA (ex air2000) based at LGW, but I am in for the 12th july BA course for the Eurogatwick fleet (so they said but they could change their mind again as usual!)

Anybody on that course? Anybody works at LGW SH?
I am desperate to hear anything you might know, since my contract hasn't been posted yet and I need to give notice to my company very soon but feel a bit nervous about it...

Thank you for your help!!!!

FBW

EF LGW

Try searching for the following topics, which are all aimed at EF LGW.

"BA...do I need to worry?"
"A question or all you BA guys reading"

Just to warn you though. There is sometimes some very negative things said about LGW, but pay no attention to it. Afterall it is BA and you ca make up your own mind.

PM me with any questions and I will endeavor to reply.

Good luck and see u around jubilee!

TIP: Only apply for LHR. T&C, pay are a lot better than LGW. Transfering to other fleets ie World Wide if you want long haul far easier than from LGW Eurofleet.

Cool

Firstly you do not apply for a base you apply for a position. It is up to BA to decide which base you get and which fleet according to manpower and operational needs.

My advice : Go for it!!!

For everyones whingeing and BA-bashing I can honestly say I enjoy working for BA. Yes there are problems sometimes but you show me a company anywhere in the world that doesnt and I will ask you for their HR departments number cause I wanna work there!!!

If you need any help with the selection process/interview let me know.

Good luck.

How long to find out?

Hi,

I applied for Cabin Crew at LGW (as advertised online) on Monday just gone this week.. how long should I expect to wait to get a response from them? They said you would hear between 7-10 days... so I hope they ring me soon and I don't receive a rejection letter!!

I waited 7 weeks for a reply! I rang them a few times to check if they had my application and they couldn't locate it!!

It was eventually found! Most initial communication for me was by post.

Good luck! It's a great company to work for! If you need any further help or have any questions send me a pm.

Hi guys,

Have a friend who has a single room near LGW (10 minutes) available. Would be ideal for a female air stewardess as the other house mates are also female air stewardess'. Room available towards the end of June 2004. If this is of interest, please PM or e-mail me on the following for further details.

BA Interview yesterday

Hi all!

I had a BA interview yesterday at Heathrow. I was just wondering when exactly they call you if you have been successful? I have woken up already really nervous and am waiting by the phone. Can someone help me please?

Thanx

Hi Thomas, check your mail instead! I got my interview on June 3rd, their letter was dated June 4th and I got it in the mail on June 5th!

The content of the letter was not clear (positive reply but no starting date... very vague about future training courses... a medical questionnaire to complete and some info about the disclosure scotland were included in the pack), so I called the recruiter and asked for more info.

I got told that this is a STANDARD LETTER, that there are courses taking place from now until September and that I would be contacted by phone within 2 weeks to fix a starting date.

So, Thomas, hang in there and let us know how you go!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Btw, I am ex-FCA (air2000) and I hope I'll get to train again with missus FlyByWire so that I can give her tons of lifts home in my shiny red car, screaming italian songs together! Aaahhh my favourite 'lil Cozzzaaaa! Hehehe! Gosh that sounds so crap now! But hey, after hours and hours of training spent in a tiny room with no windows and exams over exams, no wonder you turn a trifle nerdy!!

p.s. there is a room for rent in my house, only 4 female cabin crew, non-smokers. The room has a single bed, it's not big but it's quiet, the garden is fab! It is probabily more suitable for a car owner as it is 10' drive from LGW. Price is under £300 with bills. Send me a private message.

Hi , I have seen quite a few posts about people " Commuting" from as far away as Aberdeen to LGW and LHR working as CC for BA.
How does this work then because I thought you had to be within 2 hours drive maximum of the airport??
Would love to apply to BA but we cant move from the West Mids as Hubbys self employed here.

Thanks
Emily

LOTS of crew commute from the West Mids, short haul and long haul. You've just go to be prepared to spend lots of time on the road.
