B75 Congratulations!!!

How come that you haven't uploaded your medicals yet but you have uploaded the resignation letter??

Usually the resignation letter it's after medicals approval...

Once they have approved the resignation letter they will asked you if need more time to join the company, so they are flexible enough because they know that notice periods are different depending on the countries.

You don't need police certificate, but you can take it to Dubai if you want. I am going to take mine, just in case.

The step after the resignation approval is the Training induction, you have to download the pre-course workbook which you are supposed to do it before flying to Dubai.

The next step is the E-ticket and E-visa, the following one is the Accommodation details and if you are chosen to fly the A380 they will let you know via email as well....

So, not much more to do!!

I hope you find useful this info!!

Good luck and see you in Dubai!!

My DOJ is 1 November, next week and yesterday i received the A380 email!!

ntello Congratulations!! just a few more days for you to get there!

I guess as soon as I uploaded all of the appendix and some medicals they ticked ok, but never got the next step unblocked (the resignation).

Because they called me so soon after FI, I have to give a month previous to my present employer and I was running out of days.
I called them twice and tried to change the DOJ but both times they said no. So if I was flying on the 14th Nov then I needed to resign asap.

Then 5 days ago they allowed me to resign and went straight away to my employer, sent them the resignation letter that same day, but now it has been 5 days and still no news.

I guess they must be busy, because it took them 4 neverending days to send the contract since the GC but if you say there´s not much to do I can start relaxing and take it easy and keep on uploading the rest of things.

Thank you for the info and congrats for the 380!!!!

Hey B75

Congrats are in order for the start date, the same is mine!! I would query why they have not accepted the resignation through the portal they will be sure to respond next day, and hopefully then update the resignation part...... I messages them asking what the procedure was after resignation acceptance and receiving your workbook and it is wait for e ticket and visa time!! Once again more waiting and more stressing......... If you havemissed any med docs etc as I was approved before my dental had been complete they said to upload them on the other documents section on the right side of the candidate portal.

Congrats and good luck to all waiting

I did that as well... I resigned before they send they resignation advised, because I was living abroad and I wanted to come home to spend some time with my family...

At the end everything went well and there is no issue with the medicals!!

Try to write a query on your portal, sometimes they don't check if you have uploaded something.

Good luck to everyone!!

Auckland Open Day

Hi Jeanie,

I wonder which one was your friend?

I went to the Auckland Open DAY as well, unfortunatley there was a mistake on their website stating that it will be on the 28th of October, but it was supposed to be on the 26th.

There were around 30 - 40 people who showed up today, all looked really beautiful and stunning boys and girls, friendly personalities as well.

The hotel management asked us if we were here for the Final Interview and we told him that we are here for the open day, they were really surprised. After 20 minutes one of the recruitment team members came to us and told us that there has been a mistake on the website and they are really sorry about that. Then she took our C.Vs and told us that they will try to organise another date next month for the Auckland applicants.

I felt really bad because I was looking forward to it, and there were 3 people who actually came all the way from Australia just to apply.

I really hope they have another open day for us, otherwise we can attend the Wellington or Christchurch open day.

Good luck to all of you and all the best.

Hi Guys,

i'd like to thank alll the amazing people on this site especially current staff members who go out of there way to inform us wannabees and New starters of the answers to our quieries, i am soo happy that i got in and in a few weeks will be of to Dubai as like everyone else keep plugging away and waiting as your time hopefully will come.

Could someone inform me of what i should wear on flying to Dubai as after reading years (literally) of threads i cannot get a clear answer also any information what would be a necessity to bring and what would be better to buy whilst out there!!

Cheers again and good luck to all else

Peanut allergy

I know of one definite case where a crew disclosed this allergy at recruitment, and during the medicals, on the medical forms. They were told no problem but on re-doing the medicals in Dubai were told requirement of an Epi-Pen is not accepted by the GCAA for use onboard for crewmembers and this person was sent back to their country.

I know this because I heard it first hand from this crew as we chatted in the clinic.

Sorry but it doesn't look good for you.

Proud Mum I am not sure if this affects crew ALREADY employed, but I find it strange that the GCAA would exempt their own requirement when lesser thigns will cancel a license. It may be that you daughter didn't tell them about the Epi Pen part? Allergies are ok which are controllable with minor medications.

Mm well it seems now they state no Epi-Pen on the med forms... in that case I would say it's gonna be a no unfortunately... they follow the forms religiously...

epipen

Actually the only mention of Epipen on the medical forms is to ask you if you carry one, and not to say that you can't carry one. Also I had my FI with the HEAD of recruitment, I explained my allergies to her, and she said that everything was fine.

Besides, the epipen for me is a simple precaution, I have never used it and I don't think I ever will, so a no-Epipen rule would be no problem.

Medicals

Under what circumstance, does Emirates not hire you with regards to medicals?

Anyone know of a case where someone didn't get through based on their medicals?

Thanks in advance.

Uniform Standards Form

Hello all, I had my final interview 6 weeks ago today and about 2 weeks ago the sent me the uniform declaration form and changed my status to approval in progress. I filled out the form( I have no tattoos) and sent it back, however i did type the answers, print and sign it. I sent it as a PDF. I never heard any news from them, but this past wednesday they resent me the uniform declaration again. So I printed it and filled it out and sent it as a PDF, JPG and MSWord document. My status still says approval in progress. Is it possible they meant to send me a rejection email and sent the uniform declaration by mistake?

Has this ever happened to anyone before? because I have had no news other than this and it is now past the 6 week period in which we supposed to have notification

Newcastle assessment as well

Hi topsmiles!

I was at the newcastle open/assessment days 7 weeks ago as well, and I'm still waiting to hear back!

I know others who have been given the 11th as their start date too! However my online status is Approval in Process at the moment, which from what I've read is a very good sign, so I'm going to leave it another week then call.

My app was delayed slightly due to resending in photos, and all my online info was updates a week after all the others! So, hoping my call is just a week away!

But from what I've read they seem to have people starting weekly, so will be numerous start dates!!

I was probably with you for some of the group tasks, or even during the breaks! Hope you get it, fingers crossed!!!

xx

Question

I have a question for those of you who have already joined...

I finished my medicals Saturday and my DOJ is in just 3 weeks... How many days after finishing your medicals did it take recruitment to process and clear you? They requested an additional medical report from my doctor for a minor condition which I doubt will be a problem.

My issue is that since I'm suppose to be leaving in just 3 weeks that I want to get a jump start on packing up my apartment and selling/storing my belongings.... but I don't want to start doing that until I get the green light from EK.

Packing and moving is stressful enough so I hope they don't keep me waiting for too long.
