I just took one bag. And had everything, all my papers, documents etc in a paper folder. When they asked us for our CVs and documents etc, they asked if we could remove them from plastic covers or binders etc. They only wanted the documents and no extra tit bits

Exactly, i don't think they look how your bag looks like... but maybe is better to carry a file folder, that's what I did as I was staying in the same hotel that the OD took place, so if I needed something else I could pop up to my room

I'm a little confused guys.
Do the recruiters call your references before the Golden Call or after?.
Can someone correct me if I'm wrong.
So Basically the whole process is
-Status saying
- "under review"
- "approval in progress"
- "To be contacted at the earliest"
..Then . Grooming Email? and references? Or are those before
getting a status that says "to be contacted at the earliest?"

Same question here: At what stage exactly do you receive the grooming email? A lot before the GC?

Just to throw a spanner in the works... I never got the 'grooming email', I signed a grooming standards form in my FI which is the same from what I have read. If your status changes then you are in a better position, the girls who were unsuccessful here, their status never changed from 'under review'.
References: they don't always check them...

Another question: I was never asked to apply online before my FI therefore I never got a reference number so I could check my status online. Is there any way I could still be able to do that now and track the process of my application?

I don't know the answer to your question, sorry... They were very specific about people registering before FI...We went through an agency for the open day and we were required to send our number to them. There was someone who hadn't and they had to register at the assessment day.
All I can say is if you don't hear after 6 weeks call them...

Height/reach
THey measure your heaight again in Dubai so I wouldn't take chances with being dishonest about how tall you are or how high you can reach.
In all honesty you just make things harder for yourself, it's very dificult to reach certain things as it is, and I can reach well over 212cm. So if you're under that it's just going to be harder onboard for you.
Stretching etc is all fine, sticking things to your feet in my opinion is just the same as lying about other things. And don't think the recruiters don't know every trick in the book!

It is supposed to be a good thing to get the email... Have you stayed in touch with other people from your FI? We were all called within a 2 week period, then the unsuccessful emails came out at just over 5.5 weeks...all in one day! We all stayed in touch so you could understand the process for our group.

My status changes were like this:
1. Applied (for about a week)
2. Approval in progress and Grooming mail at the same time (for about 4 days)
3. You will be contacted...(for 1 and a half day)
4. GC (waiting: 16 days after my FI)
A friend of mine who didn't apply online so he couldn't check his status never got the grooming mail (unlike me he sign it at FI) but got the GC same day as me, two hours later!
Everyone I know who got the grooming mail also got their GC so it is a good sign I believe! But it takes more time with different recruiters I think...in my group only 8 people got the FI and for now 4 got the GC (all of us got it pretty soon, me being the first one).
One question for those who did the medicals...I had results from HIV, Syphillis and Hep.B all in one sheet so I only upload it once (under HIV) - but they still didn't remove other two as pending documents so I also upload the results at those two...maybe they overlooked it...did anyone had same problems? What is the next step after I got medicals approved?

REGRET MEDICAL
Can anyone explain to me why my status changed from being under review to REGRET MEDICAL when i have never got any medical done.
I applied not for a cabin crew job but for SERVICE AGENT OFFICER, the job .expires in the 23rd novemeber this years. I never got any invite for the interview, nor a call, so why the change in status...
I suppose it could be a mistake on their part when amending something online...so who do i contact to inquire about this problem.

Not shortlisted simply means not shortlisted...you have not got the job or the interview...usually it's used if you apply to an assessment day... if you are shortlisted you are given an invitation to assessment.

Usually you will be contacted comes next. However my friend had her status changed to apporval in progress and they asked for more casual pictures... She is now still waiting for the golden call or the rejection email.

After medicals

After completing medicals you got to wait for them to approve the medicals.
Then you will be instructed to resign from your current job if you have one, and upload a confirmation letter of your resignation. That letter has to be issued by company with their letterhead and signed by some head figure.

I have heard that they are willing to move your JD, but not for long. They are willing to work things out with us, but we have to be aware that they want us there as soon as possible.
