hey thanks for the concern yes i had to do the test only once though .there were 17 for the finals the first day and the second 18 day i have no clue about the results of the people selected the next day .in my group there were around 3 boys and 2 girls who received their call out of that 1guy was called after 2 and half months of waiting(this guy was not in my group) now is this the guy who was called later taken my slot to come there or is they are still reviewing my application(for 2 months i cannot buy this fact) .
Another interesting case here is there were 2 more people of the same name as me(we all had our numbers next to each other) for the finals one received his call is in Dubai rite now 1 got got the rejection mail has this led to some confusion there(but with their professional set up chances are less) i need some advice here should i call them or mail them .i have even informed them i can join immediately where as the people who were called at least needed 1 to 2 months of notice as they told me earlier.

Psychometric test
Hello,
I am new here. I went to the OD for Emirates and passed all the stages and got a FI (now to wait 2 weeks).
Two ladies (recruitment officers) told us they will send us a link on our personal e-mail to complete psychometric test which we have to do within next 4 days.
I have had a problem accessing my e-mail first day and now that I opened it, I realized I haven't received the link. Checked my spam folder also, but nothing there.
They didn't say whom we should call if we don't receive the link. And to make it worse, I don't know last names from neither of those ladies (because they didn't say), so I am puzzled on what to do. They said if we don't complete the questionnaire, we can't go to the FI.
Anyone? Any advice?

Do you have anyone else's number who came to the assessment day ?? if you do call them and ask if they received the email.....I know someone who had the same problem and they did not receive the email before the FI......She called the other girl's and Boy's and found out they had not received the email as well....if this is the case don't worry.....you can tell them at the FI.....this person did the test after her final interview.....so check with anyone who was at the assessment with you....good luck....

Hello everybody,
I'm kind of new here although i've read this forum for about two months searching for info and always found interesting stuff. I want to thank you to all of you that you post useful information here.
I had my FI on 15th nov and today my status changed into "you will be contacted" and my profile is locked under this status. From what i've heard this is a good sign, i'm praying everyday i'll get my golden call soon.
I have a question for you guys. From what you have heard about swimming test in Dubai, we'll have to swim with or without life jacket?

Well I attended the OD yesterday which they turned into an AD, there was initially around 60 candidates which then went down to only 10 for the FI which I had today.
The recruiters were lovely so I guess all I can do now is wait for the outcome

To help others who might be applying as well ... I wasn't wearing business attire as they requested so that of course; as I read a link here about what mistakes to avoid on ODs' , is the BIGGEST mistake you can ever do !!!
It was my first day off work so I didn't get much time to shop (I can get to that now at least ) + on my other cellphone there were two missed calls that could be them so be sure to have your cellphone numbers straight if you have more than one & have THE RIGHT ONE beside you at all times !!!

Good luck for the 27th....don't worry they need alot of Arabic speakers according to what i hear.....Anyways as long as its smart your clothes its not a problem if you reach the Final interview is when they ask to come in business attire .... Presuming you a Girl....a smart dress with a jacket or maybe a skirt with a smart top.....but considering its cold in Egypt now or at least lot cooler...a jacket would work.....pay your bill and keep your phone working

Grooming email but no status change
Hey guys i just received my gromming email however my status still says approval in process. I have signed and sent back my forms. Does anyone know or heard of any situation where someone got the grooming email but didnt get the job? I don't have any tattoos if that helps... thanks

hey i know this is a bit late and you have figured it ut already but i got that also ( I am from Adelaide) my guess is that we applied way too early and they only gave the dates for the current australia ones. I still went anyway

A380 fleet
Hi, I have just received an email informing me that I was chosen for the A380 fleet. Does anyone know if it is possible to ask to be put on main fleet? I am sure there are people that would like to join A380, so maybe they could put them.. Any information, advice, tips very welcome.. thank you!!

How will a pending divorce affect my application at Emirates?
Not a pleasant topic, but here it is:
I'm separated and may be getting a divorce. Will this hinder my prospects for a job at Emirates?
This could be a good time to go, but I'm not sure how HR feels about it? Does it even matter?

Does anyone know how long this Bengali speaker thing will go on for? I've been hearing about the language speaker requirement since my last AD and I've been waiting for them to hire other Indians for almost 2 years now. Even after waiting so long to get an invite to another AD, I decided take a crack at an OD and on the day(I'm sorry if I've brought this up before. I think I might've), the first and only question they asked me was "Where are you from" and before I could say anything else, "thank you. We will contact you..." and now I've got 6 more months of waiting to do...makes this whole thing so disheartening and disappointing, but I haven't really lost any hope or anything, I just feel a bit poo knowing that after waiting since my AD in March 2010, I've still got to wait till April 2012 before I can apply again, and if they *do* start hiring as they normally do, I'm stuck in limbo till I'm allowed to apply again and who knows how long till they decide to hire language speakers again...very annoying and frustrating.
@Bokra: Yes they do have drug tests. Even as crew I've been told that they have random checks, so if you ever make it/or if you are currently crew, it would be advisable to be a bit responsible on your next flight to Amsterdam.
@gnusi: It's because you only fly the A380 routes which isn't a lot compared to the Main Fleet, for now at least, but they will probably be adding more and more A380 routes eventually. I might be wrong about this, but a friend of mine who is Senior Purser on the A380 crew told me this - or should I say mumbled this, he was just a "bit" intoxicated at the time, so I don't know how reliable this talk was unfortunately.

@cfibrad Sorry about your situation. The assessors don't even ask about your status, unless you bring it up.
The question that comes for younger applicants is 'how does your family feel about your relocation to a foreign country?' Keep it breezy and there should not be any issue...

Hi Jsals....I'm guessing you from India.....If you made it to the assessment days they would have seen you Indian and not call you back at all ?? At which stage did you get cut off at the screening ??? Why do you have to wait till April 2012 to reapply did you make it to the final interview to have to wait a whole year???
Sorry about all these questions....what i'm trying to tell u is....if you went to an open day and was called back for the assessment day then you wait 6 mths and if you make it to the final interview you wait 12 months....Hopefully they lift this Bengali speaker thingy it is annoying...Good luck and don't give up
