there is nothing to stop Sedgely and his rather unsavoury ilk...
Having been involved (long ago) in businesses with those who shared the knowledge that Billy and his kind were available, one was minded to behave, as were one's counterparts...
If not, Billy had his fun.

Nimrod Aviation! That's a good one. Is the company registered at his home address again or has he managed to find another landlord victim?
Carbonfibre - Cheers!
G-SPOT - On reading again I think wordy and contrived are better descriptions than eloquent, but I'll take any compliment offered, thanks!
Zorst - I don't know what you mean but if it's this
then I couldn't possibly comment!

Mysterious PMs
Just for idle interest here's a recent trail of some private messages I got lately. I have simply cut and pasted them, so you need to read from the bottom up. What does anyone reckon? Still a larf a minute those lot! Needless to say, I await a reply to my latest.

Re: help
Because I like to know with whom I am communicating. What is the name of your company, and website address? Simple enough question. If you are who you say you are you will have no problem providing them. In fact I am looking for an investment adviser myself currently. On the other hand, if you are Mark, as I suspect you are, I have no interest in entering into any further communication with you directly. Your reply, or lack thereof will indicate this to me finally.

Wonder whats happening now !!!
It appears that the Unique Air Citation II G-CEUO is now in Teesside.
According to G Info shows potential change of registered ownership in progress.
Current registered owner now shows as NORTHERN AVIATION.
If Northern have bought this machine or infact leasing it, wonder who's AOC its operated on

I think I can help shed light on the reason behind the Unique Air fraud
I was one of the people whose time was wasted massively by Unique Air back in 2007. I have recently come to know that Mark Davies did benefit from the fraud. He placed a number of aircraft orders with UK aviation companies for expensive aircraft. He then received their invoices which of course had VAT added. He somehow convinced the VAT man that they had been paid by him, and managed to claim back the VAT. It seems he was paid out significantly (best part of a million) before the VAT man asked one of the legitamate aviation companies why they had not received the corresponding VAT on the purchase + were then told " no this transaction never went ahead, Unique Air defaulted on the contact".
So all the cynical lies, deception, and damaged lives was purely a criminal fraud from start to finish.
I do have the details and proof if anyone has the time and connections to push the Crown Prospecution Service to do something about Mark Davies and Mark Sedgely who are basically VAT fraudsters on a large scale. They really do need to be taken off the street.

A close relative of mine works for the CPS. It would apparently be unusual for a case to be introduced to them from a lay person. He suggested that if you have documentary evidence, you take it to the police, but presumed that the "VAT man" would be investigating after (as you claim) some anomolies had already been detected by him.
Surely if Customs and Exise had found that fraudulent claims had been paid out, they would carry out their own investigations, both internally (to find why they were incorrectly paid out) and into Unique Air and its directors?
I cannot understand why you would think the CPS would need pushing on this? Had the relevant authorities found what you say they found, then a case would be brought by them without interference from ex employees. If that were the case then I wonder why those ex employees, who worked in the office (myself included, albeit occasionally) have not been interviewed both as witnesses and potential suspects.
I like the theory though.

The Mark Davies and Mark Sedgely "Unique Air" fraud
Thanks for your reply Mike, I suspect that the reason nothing has been done is that they probably closed the company soon after the VAT refunds and once this has been done, the VAT office often does not do very much else. This is a very common business fraud, albeit usually on a smaller scale.
It is very hard to prosecute, I suspect, because you may have to prove that they intentionally planned all this. Their defence would be that they genuinely planned to do all these business things, and unfortunately the market turned against them and their company went bankrupt just in the middle of some serious transactions. How sad, etc etc.
But in this case we do have some proof that it was an intentional fraud, including a forged bank instrument proving they had enough funds to purchase all the aircraft they contracted for, etc. I believe there would be enough evidence to bring a successful case against Mark Davies and Mark Sedgely but I for one do not really have the time to dedicate to it. Somebody else would have to drive the process of pushing the authorities into action, and I would happily supply the evidence I have.

Just to be sure I wrote to HMRC enclosing a copy of your post asking them to investigate. I have yet to receive a reply of course.

Subsequent to the realisation that we weren't ever going to be properly employed several of us made complaints to the relevant auhorities and to the CAA. Nothing happened. As I have said before I think the greatest recourse achieved against Sedgely and Davies is this thread. I know it got up their noses by their threats and PMs posing often as others. I hope it still does. Similarly it did, I think, make their names somewhat notorious within aviation circles. Additionally I gratefully received a couple of invitations to send in my CV to prospective new employers after I had posted here, and I know one Unique Air victim who, perhaps indirectly, commenced work with one of these employers subsequently.
However, in spite of what you claim, I myself am of the opinion there was no great fraud, or payment received, they were just sad individuals on an ego trip which failed.
Carbonfibre, cheers, all good, as I trust is the same with you.

Have to agree with you MH. As one who was affected very badly by these "characters" activities , with the same pieces of paper...of which I also submitted to my bank manager.......and was told same. I have all details on file and be happy to forward them to you.
I am pleased to report however that due to this thread and word of mouth, the names of these pair of " characters " and company name seem to be well known through out the industry as people to be avoided.
Hope all goes well with you MH and long live this thread!
