Keep the warning messages out there about fraudsters Mark Davies and Mark Sedgeley

Lets keep the search engines fed with up to date information on the fraudsters Mark Davies and Mark Sedgeley. It seems Mark Davies has incorporated Jet A1 Consultants ltd or J.A1.G Ltd or something + Mark Sedgely has incorporated Nimrod Aviation Ltd. Presumably wanting to carry out some fresh aviation fraud.

If anyone hears anything about any of these compaies actually trying to trade, please post it here and we will try to get the fraud warnings out more widely.

Mark Davies is the most pathological liar I have yet to have the misfortune of coming into contact with.

Folks, slightly off topic but as this is somewhere where everyone knows him, I'm very sorry to say that Phil Barraclough has had to be moved to a hospital in Bristol and unfortunately won't be coming home.

Many of you knew Phil from his unfortunate association with Unique Air. Phil was one of the first 'hired' along with myself and moved to Swansea, giving up a career in the police force, to work in the office on the assurance that funds were on the way. Unfortunately it became clear that this wasn't the case and Phil left around the same time as me (did we ever actually start?!) and moved back to his family and previous job.

Things looked bleak on the job front for a while but Phil managed to get a break on the Hawker with Hangar 8, it was then that he learned the awful news that he had a brain tumour. He underwent major surgery to remove it and returned, yet again, to a ground job back with the police and was upbeat the last time we spoke last summer. I've since received the awful news from a friend of ours that Phil has been moved to palliative care in hospital and faces a very bleak prognosis.

I would like to very publically state that Phil was one of the good guys and acted in good faith throughout his short association with Davies. When it became clear what a parasite he was, Phil got out and made sure others were warned. If anyone stills view Phil in a bad light then let them cease, there is no stain on his character.

Whilst a terminal illness can only be described as an act of God, I still bitterly resent Davies and Sedgley for even the slimmest of association and the destructive effect they had on so many lives and the anger Phil felt towards them. Fraudsters like them deserve to be behind bars and I sincerely hope we all one day get our chance in court. Phil won't.

Although I never met Phil, he had departed Unique Air before the arrival of me and a small motley crew of next victims in Swansea, I heard a little about him, none of it bad (except from Davies' trail of rubbish), and had received correspondence from him during his time in the office. Davies used to comment when his name came up, but we were all immediately suspicious of anything Davies used to spout forth and so no stain was, I am quite sure, made on Phil's character.

For myself, although I was naive about aviation and some of the crooks therein, I knew deep down Unique was a non starter (although I managed to delude myself for several weeks) and that Davies and Sedgely were liars. I am quite sure the others who passed through the scruffy door into the smokey hell that was the Unique Air office, were similarly disdainful and incredulous about most of Davies' claims including the vitriol he would spout about all and sundry, including occasionally, Phil.

There were one or two emails on the Unique Air computer from Phil to Davies, which Davies would (accidentally?) leave open on screen. These made clear the situation between Phil and Davies, and I felt at the time (correctly) that I too would be in a similar position to Phil in a few weeks. I must say the language Phil used was always business like and professional when he had been shafted by Unique Air, something which I cannot say about my own language: that says something to me about the man he is.

Although I did not know him, I am deeply saddened to hear of his illness, and my thoughts, for what they can be worth, go to his family and friends. I hope the fact that any hearsay about Phil fell way short of its intended target to those who did not even know him, reassures them that Phil was not held in a bad light over any of the Unique Air dealings. Similarly I would like to thank you sincerely for letting us know here about Phil's illness.

Maybe I'm being uncharitable here but has anyone else noticed that PoundNotePete doesn't use punctuation like the rest of us? In particular the complete lack of the comma suggests that something sinister is afoot here.

The only other person I had the misfortune to bump into who was equally cavalier about punctuation was the fraudster Mark Davies

Is he back under yet another pseudonym?

hard work

what on earth has punctuation got to do with anything???

mortgage matters 01925 290290. we had the promise of setting up a mortgage bis with huge amounts of money .we did lots of work on the project no funds ever came and we just couldnt see the point of the whole exercise.I was simply trying to do a bit of research on the guy-MS and couldnt believe it when you posted the message on the thread .we didnt want to ask in public as we didnt know if ms was genuine and jepordise the project which as it turns out was a complete waste of time.We wasted weeks /months setting things up countless deadlines that were broken.I could go on and on but theres no point we just put it down to experience in the end.But to all you pilot types that wasted time- your not the only ones.I believe hes into gold or something these days.
best regards

Pete

Back in October you asked me some general questions about certain individuals, questions about their good character. To ascertain that you were genuine I asked you which company you worked for, and in what region of the country - questions which would have been easy to answer. Your reply was:

"The midlands, why?"

No company name was given, no further detail about the person who was requesting information of a sensitive nature was forthcoming. This did nothing but confirm what I then suspected, which was that you were not who you say you are, and so I posted your PM to warn others. After all, if you are/were genuine then why not just give me your company details (which are in the public domain anyway) in a private message reply to me? Apparently you have now done so on this thread, and not privately, and I am not really interested in checking your details now. You were asking me for some pertinent and frank information, but were being, well, at best, economical with any information about yourself.

When you didn't get the info you wanted, and nobody knew who you were, and now that you have apparently left your former employment, why not just not revisit this site, shrug your shoulders at my arrogance and move on - that's what most busy professionals would have done? What is now your interest in PPRUNE, a network for professional pilots?

Anyway, had you been full and frank with me in the first place I would, of course, have reciprocated. For now I see the matter as closed.

Mark Davis flying a Jet?

I can't imagine Mark Davies flying a 777 because when I was at OFT he couldn't fly a Cessna. I met him at OFT in summer 2004 when I was doing my Private. At the time he was already in his 30s failing every rating countless times with his parents money.

He told me he was doing his FAA converisons because he lost his JAA medical due to a slight defect with his sight after flying a 737 for BMI baby.

I'm guessing his parents have finally cut him off and he is where he belongs in prison or working for minimum wage.

There should be a picture of Mark Davies in the dictionary beside the word LOSER.

Angry MD trying to swindle funds again

Davies tried to swindle someone recently out of a large sum of $. After he couldn't deliver an AC as promised, his cronies tried to claim rights to a security deposit to which none of them was a party to the said transaction. Luckily the funds were wired back properly before anyone who wasn't supposed to got their hands on it. In the end all was safe, but lets ensure word gets around the marketplace to avoid him like the plague!! There isn't enough negative info out there on the net on Jet A1 to prevent this from happening again to someone else not familiar with him.

Yes - that's pretty much the story.... 'Setting Up' an aircraft Sale as the Broker - airliner this time - complete with Letter of Intents - Tech Description etc ... and then strangely unexpected problems popped up, like there was no aircraft ! ... and then making a move on the Escrow Deposit. Legitimate Customer - money was available, due diligence about to start.

Problem is - luckily - to the likes of PPrune his name and his company name - Mark Davies Jet.A1.G - are available to all of us with an interest in googling his background.... busted !

Does this sound like his 'normal' operating style there guys ?

More dodgy MD deals...

We heard that JET A1 and Mark Davies tried something similar in early 2009. Apparently he produced a forged document purportedly showing that a genuine aircraft seller had appointed him as sole agent. The terms of the deal were that all funds had to go through his escrow agent - a dodgy lawyer in Austria. Luckily the forged document was easily identified as such - mainly due to MD's poor spelling and grammar! I've seen the document and it is laughable that MD thought it would convince genuine buyers/brokers. I think it won't be long before this guy ends up in gaol.

A leasing company that can't even pay for hosting without sponsored banners.... yeah, right!

I wonder how many of the supposed customers have seen this site? Looks like the logos are just cut and paste from their websites....
