Maybe if the entry requirements have gone up then, do you think NetJets are looking at guy's/girls coming out of the major airlines like BA Virgin, early retirement ?
Otherwise i'm lost as to why the requirements have gone upwards as Captain Prop said " Where are they coming from ? "
But i would like anyone else to chip in please with the latest info circa 2006 ?
fingers crossed ill hear back from Netjets soon. Good luck to all.

Was told it was too assist them in gaining suitably qualified captains in the future, they want to promote from within?
This guy does the interviews so I guess he knows best, he did also state that it could all change back again if the powers decide it so? Saying that, he was not aware of the increase until someone mentioned the latest advert in “Flight International”? A quick phone call later, he explained the above.

Netjets is short on captains for the coming season because many captains are leaving, being fed up.
As they do not take direct entry captains(everybody starts as Fo), they are requesting higher time people because they can be upgraded quicker.
but Netjets will discover that in the current market they will not be able to find those high timers.
Maybe now they finally realize they should have taken care a bit more of their crews earlier on.
but now it is too late, the process is irreversable.

Pretty standard stuff... Part A states amongst other things.
- 3000 hours total time in aeroplanes, unless exempted from this requirement by the Director of Flight Operations.
Of course it is a Minimum.

YYZ, were you at the Flyer Show at Heathrow then? If so, I spoke to the same bloke. As well as increasing the minima to 2500hrs, he said they may also start a sponcership scheme with OAT in the new year. It is only provisional though. i'll be getting an application in for that!

Ah yes, the cadet scheme.
The company agreed that one of the FA's, who had told the company when she joined that she would be acquiring her pilot's licence, could go on the scheme. She worked hard, signed all the paperwork, met all the requirements.
Part way through the course NJE's Ops Director was visiting Oxford and told the FA in front of a group of people that he had decided to drop her from the scheme and she would now have to fund it herself. The reason? All the other FA's might want to do the same (not ONE of them has expressed an interest and why would they when a new hire FA is paid the same as a small cabin FO?).
What the person in question had failed to do before humiliating her in front of everyone was check her progress. She was at or near the top of every class and aced all her exams. Well done, managed to lose a potentially good pilot before the company even got her

No it wasn't. Funnily enough First Officer (cough) Captain DM was the one who agreed she could go on the scheme and promised her a job afterward.
It was CR who pulled the pin in an act that some might interpret as petty spite once DM had gone. Ironic really given that DM recruited him though confessed at his leaving dinner that it had been a mistake.

No DEC at NJE.
Any promoise of a fast command route could well be just that, a promise. Be very careful.
I would have thought with your experience, you could find somewhere that might suit better, ie DEC.

For once I have agreed with silverhawk, With your TT there are plenty other oppertunities. You willl not be without a job though as Flybe will take over all the guys from connect and with your jettime you go either 146 for a while or straight to the 195. NJE might take dCE in the future as they will not be able to cope this summer. With so many captains leaving they might want to go for this solution. Future wise I would also not opt for NJE : too many uncertainties and no solutions. Perhaps change in the future but highly unlikely. Good luck with the job hunt.
