Might it be Risalpur ?
Possibly Nowshera or Jodhpur.
The permanence of the WW2 buildings leads me to consider Drigh Road.

A little diversion........
Whe I first saw the picture I thought it might be RAF Kallang, Singapore, but then realised the 'tower' was too high but was sure it was Far East post-war. Whilst looking at some of the Indian airfields around Calcutta I found this - |
Still very much operational.. also one of those Indian loan words that entered the English language is associated with this spot

24 hours up - dook got it with Jodhpur - the local Maharaja was a big force in developing flying in India both pre & post war...

Hi dook, I think that could be Weston (Republic of Ireland, not super-Mare).
I can see where you’re coming from, but that’s not Weston...
Not Oirland to be sure.
The aircraft in the middle is an SIAI-Marchetti 205 20/R. I am of no help at all. The South of Spain?
Yes evansb.
Is the tower still there or has it been replaced? - a lot of Spanish airports have had substantial upgrades
The tower still exists.
are we near the sea?? - say within 20 kms?
Yes - 5 kms.
Not Valencia I'm afraid.
The challenge no longer exists. |
