One of the Dutch Hebrides? |
Flap 40 has it. The heliport on Vlieland, one if the Frisian Islands. No helicopters there when I passed by in May, just what I think is a redpoll sitting on the fence.
Over to you, Flap. |

Thanks. Try this. A fairly unique layout. |
Not fishing, and it is not Sutton Bank, but close.
Correct. It is not in the UK. What is fairly unique is the layout.
I have searched “zweefvliegveld” and “Segelflugplatz” i think it is not in The Netherlands nor In Germany. Fishing for another clue. |
That's two of us.
Sorry for the late reply. I've been to LCA and back today.
It is in one of those two countries and the surrounding terrain should make it obvious which one. I believe that it is a GA airfield as well as being a glider site. Have you noticed the runway edge markers at both ends? |
OK - I'll shoot for the Netherlands.
GE obliques distort terrain. |
In the words of Edmund Blackadder..... One more guess.
Like the Bear, I have searched Germany to no avail.
Have you looked closely at that runway?
That’s the one. There are not too many airfields where the runway has a bend in it.
officially it has 03/21 and 04/22 but only 04/21 is marked. |
Good evening dook! There seems a distinct lack of trees on that photo. Could it be on of the strips in the Falkland Islands?
Good evening to you jensdad.
We are in Europe and on an island. |
Hmmm. Don't recognise it from my wanderings in Shetland, Orkney or the Faroes. Is it one of the Inish-es, i.e. one of the Aran Islands?
No. It's not UK, but not far away.
