Well done sycamore. Tuktoyaktuk/James Gruben Airport CYUB. Note that the terminal building is on piles to prevent melting of the permafrost.

Here are some of the clues I had lined up.

Ahhhh, the land of the `Wetwang Triangle`,where studes complained of pink or purple skies, compasses would rotate, roads disappeared, clocks went backwards/forwards,navigation mnemonics and checks were forgotten ,the "Dog was` suspended in flight`....Flight 19 had nothing like the `excuses` they produced on solo navexes..!! especially if one flew a `spotter `sortie and found a `furball ` going on...
Kirkbymoorside....Slingsby ....OH if correct

Interesting field 4nm 350*, had to do a C-310 skills test from there...commited from `brakes off....

ZoomEarth shows runway and aircraft in Oct 2011.

Yes Sycamore, and good morning. A delightful, and interesting, reply. I think of the days of Basic Flying low-level sorties, I was always lost and often in that area. Things changed, of course, once I had given more thought to the AA Road Book.

OH

dook 22nd Aug 2019 08:56

During my QFI tour at Linton, quite a few students had trouble with low level navigation in that area.

dook 23rd Aug 2019 18:02

It's very quiet. Holidays probably.

Let's see if anyone is around.

I am, and immediate guess at Gatwick.

dook 23rd Aug 2019 20:18

...….and a great guess at that.

Your runway.

JENKINS 23rd Aug 2019 20:26

Thanks, too much instinct. Now start looking for this. I wonder if Kelly ended up here?

ARSTRALIA....?

Self loading bear 23rd Aug 2019 20:40

Probably not famous Dutch transgender Kelly van der Veer
She is now working in the Redlight district.

JENKINS 23rd Aug 2019 20:49

Yes, Australia. Sycamore may be more familiar with Kelly.

dook 23rd Aug 2019 21:08

Are we in Victoria ?

JENKINS 23rd Aug 2019 21:13

Not Victoria. I came across it while researching an F4 pilot whose rise to prominence came with a tenuous link to a previous search.

dook 23rd Aug 2019 21:16

I think that F4 pilot was in the Vietnam war.
