Or perhaps the red we see is not the native earth colour. Maybe Coulson or Conair have been practising dropping retardant...

Dora-9 2nd Dec 2018 05:17

Just possibly Inverleigh in Queensland?

dook 2nd Dec 2018 08:57

Dora has the right country but not Queensland. Go west.

An old WW2 airfield.

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 09:14

Bathurst Island? There's a lot of god awful strips up there around Darwin.......... but Bathurst looks possible....

dook 2nd Dec 2018 09:15

Not on an island.

You're homing in nicely with Darwin.

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 10:17

Lets try Belyuen west of Darwin on the Cox Peninsula

big country up there but it has to be ona track or road................

dook 2nd Dec 2018 10:27

You need to go south of Darwin. It is marked as an airfield on Google Earth.

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 10:31

Gould??/ Some of the GE imagery there is original 1984...............

dook 2nd Dec 2018 10:32

And you've cracked it. :ok:

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 10:36

Drove around the Darwin area a few years back - what always amazes me is how many decent strips there are in the Outback.....................

try this................

The airfield is a minor International Airport, located by the sea and outside the tropics............................

dook 2nd Dec 2018 11:27

Have you taken us back to Oz ?

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 11:31

No - it's a lot smaller place than Australia.......... they speak two languages there (plus the usual tourist English)

I'm out until 17:00 Zulu today

dook 2nd Dec 2018 11:40

Is one of those languages Spanish or French ?

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 14:54

Si................... Spanish for sure - plus another language (not French)

Another picture

dook 2nd Dec 2018 15:01

Argentina...…?

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 15:20

Quite a long way from Argentina

dook 2nd Dec 2018 15:28

So:

outside the tropics
coastal minor international
Spanish speaking

Map of Spanish speaking countries doesn't tally. :uhoh:

Unless north-west Africa such as Morocco,

Asturias56 2nd Dec 2018 16:01

Morocco speaks Arabic and French

Try harder!!!! Or get a better map..................

I'm going out for a while................

Asturias airport in Basque country could fit the bill.
But I was not able to locate the hangar of the first picture....
