RegDep.
Yes indeed it's La Serena. Originaly posted by Duckbutt as Airport La Florida, Chile. Quite correct.
Hence the confusion. Same place.
A country much in the news at the moment unfortunatley.
RegDep over to you.

Well done, Mr. G. I thought it might last a bit longer since I had deleted the "KANS AIR GUARD" from the nose of the B-57.

The Canberra is a real "Red Herring" as it is one of the very early B-57s built by the American Martin Company. It still retains the bubble canopy as per the original R.A.F.Canberras.
The following Mks were built with a fighter type canopy, with tandem crew seating, which is the type generally associated with the B-57.
Open house.

descol,
Please excuse the diversion from your new picture, but here's the original of the Hutchinson photo. As you can see, it would have been a bit obvious:
but as RegDep pointed out in a PM, in spite of my hamfisted attempts to erase the markings, I completely missed the 67 on the tip tank!
Back to the thread, I don't have a clue where the new airfield is.

To me, the 'old' taxiways and parking circles indicate europe or possibly north Africa, but the 'new build' ramps and lack of a terminal building indicates miltary in the US style. Looks like a small runway at top left, and a coast at top right.
OK well with swampy looking land, I go with Clive when he says Florida; how about a fledgling Orlando/Sanford? (Course it could be Mississippi bayou instead of Florida Everglade)
