Yes Bri,

You are correct. Well done.

Sorry about the Pacific red herring.

The day we did geography at school I bunked off. So I missed out.

Thanks Clint. I enjoyed that challenge. I'm not sure if Sumatra would be considered PTO or CBI theatre in WW.II. Here is the next mystery aerodrome:

brian,

I'll start the ball rolling. Single digit runway numbers and those distinctive turn-around loops - USA, possibly West Coast?

Hello Simon. Yes, it is in the U.S., but not on the west coast. The aerodrome is still in operation.

Definitely Erie, that's Presque Isle coming off the shoreline in the background.

additional info

Thanks for starting the ball rolling Evansb. Not Crawford so time for some clues.
The photo was taken in the mid 1980s whilst downwind left for 01.

The photo below may also provide some clues. The farmhouse behind the Cherokee is still there and shows up well on google earth. The farmhouse would be probably referred to locally as a Quinta
The hangars on the east side housed a crop spraying company.

Prompt for clues... Is the G-regd cherry tree a curved ball? Is the airfield not in the UK?

Davidsoffice,
You are correct. Not in UK or the British Isles.

Med No. Portugal yes, but not Cascais. Site of recent Portugal airshows. The Airfied serves an historic Municipality partly enclosed by medieval walls. Roman Temple, University. A place well worth a visit,
