Here's a nice but unusual formation over what should be an easy challenge aerodrome:


When researching this one, I read that the Freighter is faster than the C47. If true, a triumph of brute force over form drag!

Just over an hour. I knew it would be easy.

Grostenquin in NE France, home to 109 Communications Flight RCAF which had C-47s and Freighters.

Tempsford has control.

I'm going to say that this airfield is not in the US. No yellow school buses. I've never seen an airshow that size in the US without some yellow school buses sitting around somewhere.


I could be wrong, have been before, believe it or not.

Looks rather dry for Mt Kenya? Never been there, but it occurs to me it might be Arusha, Tanzania.

It is certainly Kenya and one of the Game Parks but not Mt Kenya.
Things were pretty dry in '79. The last documentary I saw on the area was showing it quite lush.
