Not a clue as to the model/make. Seems to me....Some person with £££$$$$$ back in the 40s who was interested in speed and notoriety in aviation. Can't be a HH design?

The challenge aircraft was not designed in the 40's by Mr HH as a pleasure craft. It was designed for a specific application, but lost out to another manufacturers aircraft.

The design of the fuselage looks very German possibly Klemm. Was it designed for the World Aerobatic Champs in 1936, when I believe it was part of the Olympics!

Right country and right(ish) period, but not a Klemm product. It was not designed for the aerobatic championships.

Neither Fieseler nor Heinkel.

As Heinkel has not been involved with the plane, what about his engineers? The Günter twins worked with Bäumer before moving to Heinkel... Maybe the challenge picture shows the Bäumer B.VII Sausewind? I did not find a picture of it though to back this guess up.

Sorry Tu. 114, not the Bäumer. As far as I am aware the Günter twins were not involved.

How about the Henschel Hs 125 indeed. It was designed to meet a requirement by the German government for a fighter. It was unveiled in late spring 1934 and the tests were carried out in early 1935, but the Focke-Wulf Fw 56 was selected instead. The Hs 125 (D-EKAN) was then used as a sports aircraft.
You have control skytrain10.

Chiglet, not a Vickers design, nor a UK design.

Something North American there? A sort of swept B45!

EvansB and Dick...not a NA or Convair design. See what you mean about the B-45 engine pods though.

Sorry, new to this game: and a guess. At the risk of going out on a complete limb, I think the answers so far are too old; the wing planform looks decidedly Il-62ish, and the engines arranged in a sort-of Kuchemann carrot way makes me think that this a mid-70s rough Illyushin sketch for a Soviet widebody, predating Il-86 CAMBER. No idea what the designation would have been, though.

(So will someone please put me straight - this is Pprune, after all!)

Sycamore...not an Antonov, and not a Russian/USSR design.
