Drawbarz,
correct on both accounts. I had thought that a pre-WW2 japanese fighter with a non-radial engine would have lasted a little longer... well, I was wrong.

Pure chance that one. I was looking on a website for details of the Ki 27 the night before last and there was a mention and partial side view of the front end of the Ki 28.
I'm still not at home at the moment so nothing to post I'm afraid...

Not Russian, nor Italian. Although the specification for this design was for a fighter, the aircraft was designed to carry bombs internally. The front view shows 4 ports for cannon.

Not German. As previously mentioned, a source indicates the specification was for a fighter, but the design became a two-place, pressurized fighter/bomber. Perhaps that is why it never left the drawing board.

That will be the General Aircraft GAL.46 I believe, which I understand lost out to Westland who won the contract with the Welkin.

Thanks Bri. It would have been a very interesting aircraft had it been built. Another project that I was not aware of, that is the great thing about this thread and "What Cockpit" there is always something to learn.
Here is the next challenge.

Would that be the Westland Weasel, perchance?
Mel, I agree with you about there always being something to learn with this thread. There have been any number of aircraft that I had not heard of before.
