Hardly a silhouette old boy,... none the less, let us get on with it! Is it a Pitts?

No it's not a Pitts...

(Point taken about silhouette but, it was all I could find that wasn't a colour photograph)

Gentlemen,
Although I joined this forum only yesterday I can see that you are a clever bunch of spotter wizards.
Therefore I do not want to insult you by asking you what's the name of this aircraft but when it was built and in which country it was produced.
Happy landings!
carson1934

I hope this image shows up?!

I am afraid this is a pretty tricky image system (it worked fine yesterday but doesn't seem to work today although I used same procedure).
If there is anyone interested in finding out what's the aircraft I'm talking about I fear he should go on his browser and type above URL manually.
I will try nevertheless once more in a short while.

I think this is the link you wished to post.
http://forum.valka.cz/attachments/217/VanBerkel_WA.jpg
Not wishing to dampen your enthusiasm but this thread is for the posting of aircraft silhouette challenges not aircraft identification by photograph. If you wish to post an aircraft for identification purposes might I suggest you post a new thread within the "Aviation History and Nostalgia" Forum. I believe the aircraft in the link is as the link title says the Van Berkel WA a Dutch Aircraft built in 1919.

Thanks Mel. Sorry for the delay, but I am in Austria on business (came over last Thursday for two days, but had to stay on until tomorrow) and have not been able to check in so often.

Here is the next challenge.

I see I have learned how to upload images and this is only a trial.
However URL gives out name of aircraft...so, where is the challenge?

You are getting there.

You will find that all upload their quiz photographs to an image saving host website and give the file a name that does not include the aircraft's identity. The Image URL from that website is then used thus the identity of the aircraft is only known by yourself. I personnally use Photobucket which is a free hosting site.

It is also the protocol for the winner of the current challenge to post the next challenge unless "open house" is called.

This is just another try.
Sorry to mess up your forum, gentlemen, but every beginning is difficult ("Aller Anfang ist schwer" in german)!
carson1934
P.S. I hope not to bother you any longer

Geben Sie nie auf. You are not bothering us, my comments were only made so that you can enjoy the thread as we all do. It is amazing the information one learns about avaiation from taking part in the threads within the Forum "Aviation History and Nostalgia". Aircraft have been posted that this old feller had never heard of

Sorry to be a nuisance MReyn but I have to learn fast (at 75 is not that easy).
I have uploaded an image thru "photobucket" and downloaded it here.
Of course I know I may name it whatever I like to hide real identity.
I hope it works..we will know soon
