Good afternoon skytrain,

Is it the Potez 661 ?

I'm off back to work now, if LM is about, he may be able to put one of mine up, I'll keep an eye open, otherwise, if it is correct, then Open House please as I don't want to hold things up!

I've got to drop off line now for a while, so I'll catch you all later. Hope you can stick around Arado....always nice to have some new players on board.

Apparently it did, although it didn't achieve any great altitude and the designer/builder claimed that it would eventually be able to do 300 mph!!

It does seem likely that it might have been a little optimistic, or maybe it was just said for amusement!

RR, It is a photograph of a model of the complete machine (I haven't seen a photo ot the actual actual machine) and no LM, that isn't a typo, it's a quote from the description on a well known web site, but I suppose it could have been a joke!

It had a greater L/E sweep than a Lightning !!!

Ahhhh - then it's top speed would have been in excess of M2.

(the sine of the Mach angle is one divided by Mach no.)

Very similar in planform to the HP-115, but with a deep vee shaped keel/cabin, which I imagine may have helped mitigate dutch-roll if development of the flight envelope had continued to the point where that would occur.

then it's top speed would have been in excess of M2
not very likely though with a 90hp V8
