Bonjour Richard!!!!!! Thank you. I must admit that I only got it through some internet searching. I'd never heard of it.

Here is one that, if known, will go quickly, and if not...?.... Well, let's see.... One for the warbird fans!

Martin

Hello boys, Sorry I was out until now. No, Tu.114, not a "Bell" project/aircraft although i can see why you think it might be, and Skytrain10 - yes and no.

By the way, apologies for the quality of the silhouette. I had to roughly shade it on Photoshop and had little time. However, it is/was as you see it, nothing tricky!

It is!!!!!

In the late 1930s, a British patent was issued for the Baynes Heliplane which resembled the configuration of the current tilt rotor aircraft. Inadequate financial backing prevented development work, leaving the exploration of tilt rotor technology to other engineers in the four decades that followed.

Thanks RR, certainly an innovative design for the late 30's. Another British, "if only"!

Here we go:

Yes, I like the way they optomistically show it sitting in the water expecting it to take off again!

Would your latest be Central/Eastern European? I would have said Russian but I don't recall it at all. However, it might be Czech or something like that? The interesting features are the tricycle gear and the HA wing.

Good sport this!

Good morning.
Not a Miles LM, but interestingly this aircraft was to be offered in 2 versions, the one I have shown, and the other a taildragger version with side-by-side as opposed to tandem cockpit.
