It seems that the prototype flew at first with its undercarriage fixed (one photo shows even spatted main undercarriage).
I don't know whether it was retractable or not when it crashed.
The proto had no tip-tanks fitted .

Everyone,
Whilst there is an interlude in the evenings' proceedings, I would like to say that the Christmas Special is finished and I'm anticipating posting about three weeks before 25 Dec.
I have also a personal card for everybody which is, er shall we say, a little different.

Thanks Chaps.
"Fantastic!!! Is this related to the calendar that you were working on?????"
No, it's just for all of you on this thread.
I wish I was as clever as you all are . I now have over twenty challenges lined up, so I think these will keep me going for the next year! In the meantime we wait..........

No problem Mel...made for interesting reading. Must admit I too had only thought of the 222 as a vertical as opposed to a swept tail. Shows we can all learn something here.
Don't know if drawbarz has a posting problem....he was "live" on the forum earlier this evening for some time. The green light was on!

3rd line down on the Aviation History and Nostalgia page.
"What Cockpit & What Aerodrome" latest Lists.
PPruNe seems to have sorted the clock out!

Well we have given Drawbarz 24 hours and he has been seen on PPRuNe since he posted the answer to Noyade's challenge at Post #4414 so I suggest we go "Open House"
