Carson...not the Embraer 135 or 145, (have to admit it does look a little like the 135, although (in my book) its a little more stylish!).
Not the G2TT.
Con-pilot...not the Cessna Columbus either.
And to summarize..not a Grumman, Cessna or Embraer product.
Despite the suggestions of Embraer/Cessna Colombus, this design is perhaps older than it looks...

I too will need hints for this one.
The style of it suggests to me the period 1967-73. Would that be fair?
Also, is it a project from a manufacturer who wouldn't normally do this type of plane, like maybe a Convair project?
Just in case its not obvious, I'm really groping in the dark here

OBAman...right sort of era. The narrow engines are a good indicator that this is not new technology. It was also a project (as you correctly state) which never flew.
The aircraft was to fill both the exec jet and commuter role, much as the EMB-135 does today.
Thats the clues for now....lets see if they are enough.

I'm going with the stillborn Lear Liner Model 40 project of mid to late sixties vintage.
Thanks Plumb Bob. No wonder they abbreviated names like that.

Well done Noyade, it is indeed the Lear 40 Liner...not to be confused in anyway with todays Learjet 40. This was an attempt by Gates to get into the big exec jet market (ie going head to head with Grumman's Gulfstream 2) and the commuter market, and was to be powered by RR Spey engines (again just like the G2). According to some sources the prototype was part built before the project was cancelled.
Go to: rolls-royce spey | 1966 | 1534 | Flight Archive, for details.
Over to you Noyade.

The front looks like a Beech Starship, so I'm thinking this maybe an earlier Beech pusher prop design. I believe there was one which never got built although I cannot find a reference to a model number.

Don't know what the silhouette is, but it looks like there was a Spitfire helicopter over the page. Any pointds for that
The silhouette does actually remind me of *something* but I can't put my finger on what it is yet.

Am I correct in thinking that is a pusher prop?

Hi Noyade,
Am I right in assuming in the light of the recent discoveries that Mike Smith Lightning 400 was a mere project (a paper plane) and never flew?
Where could I find a diagram or a line drawing of same?
Thanks for your help
carson
Sorry for my stupid request I could easily copy your line drawing anyway I wouldn't mind getting a link with a bit more information on this particular A/C
