As the engine seems to form the most part of the whole thing, is it any of the following:
Curtiss OX-5 or 6
Hispano-Suiza 8-series
Packard Liberty 12
Peugeot 8 - series
R.A.F. I a or 4a
Renault 12 - series
Rolls-Royce Eagle II - VIII
Sunbeam Cossack
Wolseley Viper

Somehow leaning to Curtiss V-1570 engine, but cannot place it to an airplane. Seems to have a wrong tail for a Curtiss….. From US?
Could it be possible that the radiators were placed differently in different versions?

Good evening skytrain,
These late night look-ins seem to be becoming a bit of a habit, everybody else seems to have departed, but I see your light's still on!
That's a Thomas-Morse TM-23
Fitted with a Curtiss D-12 (no piccie on Aerofiles ), but I just found your drawing on a certain Russian site, so have removed my question mark!! Now I'll have to sort something out to post.

Thanks Ken,
I was editing my post when you replied. Seeing as there was only a single example built, it seems odd that the photo doesn't seem to show the streamlined gear legs or the prominent "leading edge extensions" shown on the drawing, but I guess that it may not have been built like that, or maybe they were proposed changes to improve its performance that were neve made!
I'll sort something out for the night shift and put it up shortly.
Sleep well

Yes, I had noticed after posting there were some discrepancies between the 3-view and the picture. As you say the 3-view was probably what it was to look like. Alternatively of course, as I have found on that site before, they may have put up the wrong picture!
A quiet weekend on SC all in all. Shame as back to my travels next week so I had hoped for a little more interest than there was. Anyway I'll try to look in when I can during the week, internet connection permitting!
Time to sign off now, so I'll say good night

Yes, they do often put up a wrong picture, or often, one picture linked to a series of aircraft!! Very annoying and confusing, but a good site none the less.
I'd hoped to get on more over the weekend, but things conspired against it. Have a good trip and let's hope you can get a reasonable connection once in a while
If you're out there Graeme, wassis then?

Good morning All, in the order you wake up….. .
Funny, I must have seen the Thomas-Morse picture several times last night but somehow missed it. It's like sometimes with cross word puzzles and Sudoku. Once in a while it is good just to sleep over an unsolved problem (and get someone else solve it ).

Guten Tag Reg ,
I passed the T-M over too at first, but I was satisfied that the Aerofiles entry was probably the one we were after, but that same photo was the only one I could find and as it wsa a one-off, I couldn't reconsile it with the drawing until I dug a lttle deeper on Airwar and found the three-view!
Just off for the dog's early morning perambulations, back in a little while!
Good hunting

You know, the way I trawl pictures from Airwar, gives me only the photo but NOT the 3D. That's why I didn't get it. The same trawling technique gives it from other websites (it's in several…). Have found the same phenomenon elsewhere. Had a problem some time ago, where no method used gave one picture in a Wiki article (but the other of the two). Probably there was some glitch in the coding of that attachment… Oh yes, one is a prisoner of ones shortcomings, although should not be .

G'day Graeme,
I hope you had a great weekend!
I just knew you'd get this one! It is the EDO Nyeman R-10 (or P-10).... AKA the Kharkov KhAI-5.
