Can't see a thing as usual, also by pressing key F5 as somebody suggested nothing happens. Could you send PM without hurting anybody's susceptibility? Thanks

I would say it is a line of turbulators, and the thing behind the wing is a drag rake. Wish I knew where I saw it. Could be some of ames research.

This is the closest I can get. With a few pictures. Do you want them too?

The Apex High-Altitude Flight Experiment
The semi-autonomous Apex combined a modified ASC sailplane fuselage with a new wing designed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The wing had a special airfoil designed for high subsonic speeds at extreme altitudes.

sablatnic,

Not much stands a chance when you're around does it! The NASA Apex high altitude research glider.

A very good call. How did you find it?

Open House....another jet.

Agree with you RR, but having found drawings of the P-47 jet project, it it was based on a bubble canopy variant and a lot more streamlined. Now looking at earlier Republic models for any clues.

Gone around and around on this....I keep coming back to the P-47, particularly with that overall shape and specifically cockput appearance.

I'm guessing this must be one of the Republic AP design numbers that I cannot find attributed to anything! Maybe the AP19???? Maybe an early design for the aborted P-47 Jet Thunderbolt??

Are we getting mislead? Is it a "P-47 inspired" design, maybe from Russia or somesuch? RR

paulc,

Sorry, not the Severski S35.

skytrain,

Keep taking the pills mate - you are so close that if nobody gets it I'll have to give it to you. It's a Republic P with three numbers after it....

LM
