With based aircraft and crews in IOM, BA codeshare and other connections in place (Flybe's got none) then I think it would be safe to say that your guess will be proved wrong.

This really feels like personal rather than business. Who is making these calls?? Is anyone at flybe still angry from the franchise falling out with Loganair? This really is shareholders money being spaffed away.....

No one has said anything will be or might be based in IOM

So what makes you think LM will turn tail and run?

I think you are misunderstanding. His point was Loganair already have planes based in IOM to operate the LHR route among others so makes less sense they would drop it.

Only the Flybe and Manchester threads on here are capable of provoking this level of reaction!!

Skipness raises an interesting point. From what little I know, none of the former Flybe management beyond the FD and DFO are involved in the new venture. It’s unlikely that this is purely an anti-Loganair vendetta.

Flybe 2 is backed by venture capital and one with a history of trying to create value by market consolidation.

Assuming the VC has any involvement in what routes the airline flies, and this isn’t simply a poor execution of an equally poor plan (which it could be), then picking fights with Emerald, Loganair, easyJet, KLM and BA has a different tone. It suggests that if you make yourself enough of a nuisance to enough people, one of them will eventually buy you out.

It’s the only logical explanation as to how you could possibly liberate any value from this scheme. If none of them play ball, all you have is a massively loss-making airline on which the VC eventually cuts its losses.

Just so you know, the E175 flew BHD-ATH yesterday (16th Sep) as the lease has come to an end.

and as we suggested Loganair are not dropping the route either like you guessed. We didn’t say Flybe wouldn’t launch it.

Their social media admins are claiming it's due to the ongoing delays from lessors. Prioritising new routes over the existing services?

I really don’t understand this. Are the existing routes performing so badly that it’s better to give the new routes a shot? Or they just don’t care about the existing routes? Seems strange.
