I knew I had seen it recently, from the March 2023 Planning Portal DCO submission.
Don't need anything at Eastern end until that date because it is already in approved plans to aid 25 departure flow & 07 arrival flow.....
"This plan depicts the anticipated layout of the airport upon completion of works approved under extant Town and Country Planning Act permissions and permitted development rights. This differs from the current layout of the airport"

Phase 1 afterwards - new 4 pack + larger runup bay overflow.

Phase 2a - besides T2, extra quick exit from 25 and full backtrack relief for 07.

Phase 2b - extra fast exit 07 arrivals and full length taxiway to the 25 threshold end + T2 second pier

So who is going to book a fixed non transferable ticket to catch a specific train to St Pancras when the passenger will have no idea if the aircraft will be late or how long it will take to pass through immigration and pick up luggage. It will work better in the other direction though.

As for the French, they always seem to be on strike.
What exactly is wrong with adding in runway efficiencies?

Not sure I would call this "more competitive". National Express is already the dominant coach operator between these locations and LTN. In the last few months, coaches at peak times have often been 100% full and passengers with reservations for the coach 30 mins later or no reservation at all have regularly been left behind. Seems like the new route is really just a disguised way of increasing the number of seats on the (pre change) route to London.
I would expect National Express to do something similiar soon on their routes between London and STN as well

It’s not a new service but an old service reintroduced although the last leg to Marble Arch is an additional stop.

This from 2017

With the price of a Dart ticket added to the cost of a Thameslink rail fare, there is an opportunity for National Express to take a few more rail passengers away from those passengers whose final destination is not St Pancras.

I think they are using TUI slots, as it's a charter for TUI holiday makers.

On the subject of TUI, they have pulled their Rhodes route for Summer 24.

Just been on the TUI App, can't book anywhere in Greece 2024 from Luton which would include RHO, KGS & CFU!

The decline of TUI/ Britannia at Luton is almost complete but is there a bounce back?

That Travel Weekly report does not align with the announcement on TUI's website I'm afraid.
TUI LAUNCHES BIGGEST EVER SUMMER PROGRAMME FOR SUMMER 2024 WITH 1.1 MILLION EXTRA FLIGHTS | TUI UK Media Centre
This reads "After over 60 years of presence at Luton, there will be 14 weekly flights to four countries with increased frequency to Dalaman and Antalya." No mention of additional.

Not sure when TUI last served Antalya from LTN. Think the last time was 2019! So not sure on the increase unless it’s the extra Sun Express flight that they have bought seats on?

Very unlikely as the bulk of TUI's LTN program is now with EZY........A lot of leased airframes are being based elswhere which I hope goes better than last Summer!
