Tonight's FlyOne, instead of SkyUp substitution, this time using a Jordan Aviation 320.
Seems to have been used all month by FlyOne but I believe first time seen at Luton.

Something unusual in the schedules for tomorrow…
Eastern Airways flight T39846 from Newcastle to Luton (E190) landing at 1700L.
Any chance someone could make this flight go tech, or make some drones appear at that sort of time?
Not sure why the airport owner allowed this movement considering it will likely contain the opposition for their town’s football club the next evening.
Any advantages…

May I just ask the Luton regulars what would be normal, if there is such a thing, at Luton what would be the usual time to get through security without using Speedy security and with only 1 cabinbag?? At 06.00 o'clock...
thanks in advance
thanks in advance
If you have already checked in, don't need to drop off a bag, know where you are going and don't delay in the shops, then I would be disappointed not to get from back-of-the-security-queue to the gate in 30 mins. Maybe turn up at the airport 1h30 before a flight to be safe though in case there is some sort of operational foul-up

A quick photo update on the new apron from today. It looks like the remaining works are finishing off where the airside roads join the apron, with only a small amount of concrete left to pour.

Returned Weds night and joined the security queue not long after entering the building from the stand. Many E gates were not working on arrival. Took over an hour to get through. Was not good. Although it was funny to all to watch the queue jumpers get escorted back beyond the place they originally joined the queue by security staff.
To be honest, even during the nonsense of last summer where almost all airports struggled, I’ve never really had an issue at Luton. The worst time is during school holidays and within the 2 hour period of the Wizzair first wave.

Went through last Monday around 6-30am and it took between 20 and 30 mins to get through and that was with quite big queues and not all the lanes manned.
Fast track through security is now a whopping £8 per person paid at kiosks or £6 if booked in advance when passengers might not need it.
Reward for inefficiently?
Add to that £2 for a trolly and a minimum of £5 to use the drop off zone and it is easy to rake up £15 just to get airside for some passengers.

Begs the question if not all lanes are manned at a peak time when are they manned?

Pretty much the same as any UK airport now.

There are many extras on offer at LTN. The fact that most passengers do NOT use them suggests they prefer a cheaper service without the extras.

I'm still a fan of the airline and not had any major issues. Couldn't have gone to Jordan, if it wasn't for their amazing fares. £38 return LTN-AMM!

A better question is how much goes to LRT aka the Council who are the airport owner? Recent history suggests nothing. Just like the drop off charges, car park charges, trolly charges and fast track charges. The operator keeps the lot while securing another £15m rebate from LRT for this year.
Mugged comes to mind.
