I was looking at this earlier. Around 1 hour 35 minutes to get from Parkway to Terminal 5 at Heathrow with a change a Farringdon. Around 6 minutes quicker to T1,T2 and T3. Once the Dart is open the travel time from Farringdon to Luton Airport will be around the same as Farringdon to Heathrow.

With Heathrow charging airlines £26.31 on average for each passenger handled, a few more minutes travel might not deter passengers from using Luton especially as they are saving over £20.00 each and that figure does not factor in the low cost flight tickets, meaning it pays to fly from Luton!

Farringdon now has direct rail links to 3 London airports making it London’s best connected station for air travel. Luton needs to raise its game if it wants to compete in more markets, as while Luton is better connected so are the other airports.
As for the Dart, I am no longer seeing trains running. More problems or maybe they can’t afford the electric bill with no revenue?

I've been thinking about the DART oneway fare of £4.90
I am wondering if the price was a copy of the Diabolo supplement for accessing Brussels airport's rail station, which is 5.70 euros (approx £4.95). The alternative is to walk 1.3 miles from Brussels airport to Zaventem railway station and then get a train to Brussels without paying the supplement. Oddly enough, from Luton airport's rail station to the airport via Kimpton Road is about 1.2 miles.
Yes, it's a lot to charge... but people travelling to/from Brussels do seem to pay

Like the charge for the last half-mile (guessing) to the airport on Edinburgh's trams, or for getting off the tram at Bari airport even though the tram goes on to further local destinations. No doubt many others as well.

It is ok doing surveys about airports but it most passengers use airports which are convenient to them - good, bad and awful but just put up with it. The airport which came top has just closed - why? Because not enough passengers used it so obviously it was not busy making it a reasonable experience. Nobody who lives in Devon is going to travel to Doncaster when they can travel from Bristol or Exeter.
