Flybe will operate a new route to Norwich
That appears to be an early out of BHD which has a different flight number from the BHD to MAN, however it appears to go via MAN out and return in the evening. Does that mean BE are down an aircraft at BHD for most of the day!!!!
Noticed on the BFS website that Wizz are doing a promotion on flights to Poland, is this a sign that loads on these flights are poor!
Is that promotion not across the board!!

Bhd-nwi
BE did this a while back direct and it wasn't profitable. So, really they have now started a MAN-NWI route, nothing to do with Belfast apart from loosing an aircraft if your right. How will this affect the rotation, does that mean they loose a BHD-MAN flight?
Another thing that I've been meaning to ask for a while now, how on earth do you book BA/EI codeshare flights from Belfast? Been on both websites and both of them won't let you book codeshare

BE won't be an aircraft down at BHD, it goes back at 08:10 again, but if they get 20 people wanting to fly BHD-NWI (which wouldn't have been profitable direct) then this should be good for them and should fill up any empty seats on the BHD-MAN and MAN-NWI services
all tough as they havent anounced anything about it i shouldn't think they will get anybody on it

But sure it doesn't arrive into Norwich until 0950. The 0810 dep from MAN gets into BHD at 0910 next arrival after 12.00, was there not always a mid morning arrival in from MAN anyway - so no additional aircraft there (I could be wrong)

oh yes all there doing is putting them on the existing BHD-MAN morning flight and then putting them on the Existing MAN-NWI flight, so no additional aircraft, and the same flights as before

There was an article in the Belfast Telegraph this evening about 'runway extension' points taken from it
1. Jim French said the runway was long enough - didn't need extended, and mentioned that FR have threatened to go up the road.
2. Ryanair replied with a mouthful of their usual abuse 'Flybe's plane's are old and crap etc', 'they are trying to prevent low fares coming to Belfast....
3. Mr Ambrose said that BHD had its busiest week ever 'with arrival of FR and popularity of existing carriers like BE'
4. FR will reconsider its base if the runway is not lengthened.
If and only if BHD got an extension to the runway, it would take years to get approval. One only has to look at other airports and their efforts into getting an extension. Frankly I would say the odds would be stacked against it. So basically if thats the case FR will be gone by next summer, what do you folks say. Let the flak begin.....

If the City's management were that 'smart' they would have built the terminal on the foundations they laid for it instead of halfing the size because it was cheap at the time. Why do you reckon the City will get a runway extension without a public enquiry? Do you think all them Judges and alike around Holywood will sit and watch as O'learly's Flying Circus wreck what little peace and quiet they have left? Unlikely. Flybe and BMI could already do European routes from the City without an extension. Smacks of desperation that Ambrose wants to bring the bulldozers in just to accommodate the great lumbering supertractor.

Last time I looked the belfast tele on-line for today was still not updated, so i have been unable to read the article. However, i said before and i say again, that i believe that bhd, looking at falling pax nos even though new services were being added there, had to do something. I still believe that there was an air of panic to both the bhd and fr decision to use bhd. Bhd wanted a quick boost to pax nos and fr wanted to try and beat Ei into belfast, but couldn't use Bfs. I have seen the so-called ability of "senior management" at first hand and i have to say, on many occassions the people at the top of many organisations are not near as bright as you think. Anyone here who rules out completely the possibility that bhd made promises to fr about the runway extension, knowing full well that they might have problems delivering on those promises is a complete fool. You know, Bhd may be banking on the fact that once in, fr will be reluctant to leave, even though the extension is not delivered.
One question, some here believe that Flybe may be the big losers with the arrival of Fr, why do you believe that? This is a genuine question, as I don't know the answer.

will not get an extension for years on FACT or THIN AIR???
I think its called an educated guess, just based on public opinion and experiences of other airports and planning in NI. eg I read that despite residents losing the battle against the cap-it still has to be approved by the assembly (now thats probably a formality) but let me think John Lewis, Giants Causeway, the football stadium blah blah!! I think runway extension is a little controversial (but then again I am thick-I failed the 11+). As for Mr Ambrose/Mr O'leary I admire both of them especially the latter, however that's not to say that they will not chance their arm. Well bully in the case of Mr O'leary or do you never read the papers!!!!

I hope BHD do get the runway extension and to be honest I believe they will get it. Ryanair wouldn't have taken the risk going into Belfast City unless they were certain an extension would be granted.
I live in East Belfast and yes at time it can be noisy and unpleasant but in the interests of the local economy I support Ryanair coming to Belfast and I support a runway extension.
