Ryanair exit BHD

EI-DLX flew STN BHD BRS BHD this evening, so wondering does anyone know where this plane will go to tomorrow or did it go tonight? I heard the crew discussing where they are going, some to Barajas Madrid and some to Ciampino Rome. Will DLX go to Europe or does anyone know what the plan is?

It is just like old times now the departures board is awash with BE flight numbers with odd NMs and BDs!!

The passengers were talking about this being the end of FR service at BHD and the senior cabin attendant announced after the arrival thanks for flying on this the last FR service between Stansted and Belfast City. Well that was the 1650 STN departure and it wasnt the last, as there was an STN based aircraft leaving for BHD at 1830. What he meant was the last service by the BHD based crew.

The aircraft will be going Rome as FR are to base a sixth a/c from Nov 1 or to Madrid as FR are to bease their 13 & 14 a/c from Nov 1. If it left tonight it would of gone to DUB and will be positioned in Rome or Madrid for Monday.

As for the crew going to Madrid and Rome that is right as some of the MAD crew will be operating a number of W routes from Paris BVA.

incorrect, the aircraft flew out empty to Stansted.

Crew going to Madrid, Barcelona, Reus, Porto, Rome, and some staying in the UK, some to other airlines, some to jobs outside aviation, i wish them well

Just wondering how the first day at BHD was without RYR?

Was there much of a drop of in pax numbers in comparison to say a typical
Monday. How were first loads on the new Flybe routes to Bristol, East Midlands and Liverpool?

the terminal was def quieter in the morning without the usual early 0630 stn departure. it was hard to say as flights were busy in general with the halloween
holidays. time will tell. the coffee shop did not open until 10am, so they have already changed their opening hours. i will miss the roar of the ryanair 737s touching down!

I wud rather hear the whine of a Viscount or an F27 myself. In time it will pick up again, its only Ryanair. Think if FLYBE pulled out or went under!!!!!!

I take it this is the new coffee shop round by the duty free store. It's right beside the Heathrow gate so it seems stupid to me not to open till 10.00am when there are two Heathrow departures before that time. I've noticed people travelling to Heathrow do use that coffee shop while waiting to board the aircraft.

FlyBE reports strong demand on its newly launched City Airport routes

Flybe reports strong demand on its newly launched City Airport routes - Business News, Business - Belfasttelegraph.co.uk

Andrea Hayes, Flybe's general manager of market development, said that there is strong demand from both business and tourism customers for the flights.

I guess only time will tell. This could well be just a piece of marketing spin, but fingers crossed the routes do well.

Regarding the coffee shop, I could see Costa not opening before 10, but seems ludicrous that the airside coffee shop would remain closed. As people mentioned, people sit and wait around this coffee shop killing time until their flights are called.

Re Flybe new routes.

Sunday's loads were very good (by BE standards) with probably 80% load factors, yesterdays less so with maybe 40%.

However, numbers don't matter, only how much dosh the punters paid for the tickets and Flybe are very good indeed at managing yields and have an a/c that still makes money even at very low load factors.

Completely agree Eastern, its way past time that some sort of spotters forum was introduced for all this boring teletext style nonsense!

Baby to BHD

I wouldn't be at all surprised if WW switched to BHD.
Certainly looking at the pax figures FR achieved on the EMA-BHD route and now the prices quoted by Flybe, there appears to be a stronger demand for this route over EMA-BFS, and I am sure WW are far from happy about Flybe gaining a foothold on "their patch" at East Midlands.

It will be interesting to see Flybe's response if this were to happen.

If BMI Baby where to move to BHD they would not be aloud to operate Manchester, Birmingham or any route that another operator does.

Belfast City Airport has a policy that stats an airline can start but cannot operate a route that another operator operates. It called a one route policy.

Who started this rumor? Considering bmibaby is getting ready to award their ground handling contract to Servisair (renewal) or Menzies (switching) at BFS, i cant see them moving down the road as contracts aren't cheap and last 3-5 years, sometimes more... besides aren't all of bmibabys routes already available from BHD? BHX, CWL, EMA,MAN
