So I think the line up this winter will be :
Aer Lingus - 2 based A320-200's
Easyjet - 6 Based B737-700's [In December a B737 will leave and a A319
will be based so in December it will be 5 based B737 and 1 based A319
Jet2 - 2 Based 737's
Thomas Cook - 1 Based A320
By the sounds of things it looks like it going to be very quiet in BFS this winter ...... Very Quiet

Was the Aer Lingus news regarding removal of one frame not announced some time ago? Thought that the winter schedule was pretty much sorted with LHR taking one aircraft, and Arrecife, Tenerife, Malaga and Munich utilising the other.
What will be more interesting is which if any of these routes will be reinstated for summer 2010. FAO is definitely back, but curious about the rest especially Milan and Rome being the only operator on these routes. Capacity to Barcelona and Paris I'd imagine would be already catered for by EZY, matching supply with demand from BFS. Rome had been operating above expection had it not, remember EI upping the frequency from 3 to 4 per week, citing high demand. Perhaps seasonal demand.
With 2 LS based aircraft, are these frames highly utilised?? With LBA twice daily on the whole and a weekly Saturday Chambery, what other flights will these operate?? Daytime cargo flights, or are the cargo routes served solely in the evenings??
While we've all got accustomed to a huge diversity of routes from BFS and recently 3 based EI aircraft, lets not forget it was only a matter of a few years ago BFS was surviving on a sole AMS international scheduled flight. To have 11 based aircraft and the airport on course to handle 5m+ passengers again this year, I think BFS isn't doing too bad, when you consider increased competition from BHD with FR, and the worse economic climate for decades.

Forgot about Tenerife being operatred by LS also.
So if LBA is a Leeds based unit, only TFS and CMF being operated by BFS based aircraft, why are 2 being based, what else is keeping them busy??

EZY is going to be around 211 (216 when GVA starts, and maybe more when the new route starts) turns per week, depending on how landing fee negotiations go, this is only around 10 less than last year remember that PRG is no longer served by EZY..in the last 3 months EZY has carried more passengers than they did this time last year, so despite the recession i would say this winter could actually be better than last
EI will be around 35 turns per week, although some LHR times are still not confirmed... they have dropped 5 routes, 4 due to no/little demand in winter... FAO always gets dropped, but they are keeping AGP and gaining TFS
usually LS would have 2 base aircraft in winter at BFS, one would do cargo flights and live on F1 (or stand 29 if the electra cargo plane was about...) and the other would do a sun destination, i can never remember the LBA being a base aircraft... ive never seen a 752 doing BFS-LBA, have seen it doing BFS-TFS before though.. but that was last year and it hasnt been back since the start of winter 08... and even then it basically lived on stand 21 for most of the day

Haven't heard anything further but this won't help. Strange how only this house was effected.

This wont help at all, albeit, that at this time there is no prove that the damage was as a result of an aircraft. Why have the airport not been on the media giving their side of the story, every resident MLA and local council rep has been.

Nothing like a good story. And from what it appears, everyone is just taking some woman's word for it. I'd like to think the glide or at least the PAPI's on 04 would give a path a fair bit higher than the average rooftop!
QUOTE:
"Some of the neighbours told me a plane had come over and it looked like some kind of backdraft had taken off part of my roof."
Gotta love the technical "backdraft" there. Or how about maybe your roof tiles fell off or blew off for a a reason other than the fact you like to moan because you bought a house beside an airport?

Does anyone know what the latest is with the runway extension at BHD? All seems to be quiet at the minute.

The mention of vortices makes me think immediately of an FR B73H. I live near Liverpool Airport and the vortices from the B.738 winglets is quite noticable - especially if the aircraft is on a visual approach and slightly lower than the norm.
