hmmmm cwl to gla, edi, jer, all routes served by baby and dulplicated by flybe when they moved in, whats the difference here?

Two years ago I would have said suicide, under the germans, there has to be method, not madness!

If its a dumb move why are Flybe so vocal about it, must be worried!

The fact that you put back routes vacated by FR into BHD, albeit to ring fence your own operation, to find out a month later that the people who you were negotiating with bring in an airline to compete with one you have just set up and 3 existing routes. What they should do is base a couple of aircraft up the road and shift all the non competing and unlikely to be competed on routes up like Southampton, Inverness, Exeter, Aberdeen etc, start some Euro routes operating well into the night and sit back and watch WW retract out of BHD.

Topflight have put their 2011 Italy program on-sale from Belfast. Would appear they are again using BHD. No mention of airline as yet, looks not to be a BHD based frame, so possibly Air Dolomiti once again. Season runs from 28 May to 10 September.

will probably be the E195 again.. with the seats limit increased, i estimate that if BHD can secure flights up until their 48,000 aircraft movement limit which is still in place, they may gain 1m extra passengers a year.. thats based on the average aircraft holding 100 seats

approx room for 27 extra flights per day, however BHDs infrastructure wont support that many more..

As a neutral bystander I have to say there's disappontingly very little gloating between this forum and the Belfast International forum over recent route movements from BFS to BHD and yesterday's lifiting of the passenger cap?

Were they so kind to you when you lost Ryanair?

Does no one here think that the lifting of the passenger cap could spell the end for BFS as the main airport in the North? Or maybe it's so obvious no one has bothered to comment.

Amelia... an airports an airport. There's no need to stir anything. All I hope is that with recent events, Flybe rethinks only basing at BHD. BFS will always have the chartered routes, in my view. And onces the aviation world has calmed down, all airports will return to growth.

Amelia, are you wanting us to start throwing snowballs at each other then?

Losing Manx2 from BFS was a small loss, but in my opinion BHD is a better suited airport for their routes

As for WW, they've moved from having route dominance at BFS on their routes to entering direct competition.. unless both WW and BE can both sustain their routes which could be difficult in the winter months, there could be flight cuts by either WW or BE.. as some one will start losing money sooner or later

Amelia Earhart - PROFESSIONAL pilots rumour network!!!

While not all of us may be pilots, I was gather most would appreciate sensible and adult debate... Disappointingly very little gloating??? I'd say the majority on here are older than 5!

As previously mentioned, airlines wanting to operate longer sectors or multiple sectors per day will still utilise BFS while the curfew exists at BHD. I'd say that would ensure the charters, EI and the majority of EZY's operations will remain at BFS. BHD is ideal though for the more business orientated routes and the smaller regional aircraft.

Just a pity BHD couldn't attract KLM UK and SN Brussels, especially KLM for their onward flight connections from AMS.
