It would seem that it could be a very via option for Flybe with the Embraer 195 and also that it poses minimal risk given the existing numbers from BHD.
I suspect the reason for the delay in an announcement is that there is much interest in the route and maybe greater negotiations are in place depending on which carrier gets the route ?

Stansted seems an obvious choice as Flybe could cater for both the North and South sides of the London area..alas i heard Mike Rutter say he wasnt really looking at that market

When reflecting on the BHD-London services in the past, don't forget the couple of unsuccessful attempts at BHD-London City, most recently with Scot Airways D328 in Air France colours.

I think it was just after they moved the LBA-BFS-LBA route to BHD. I not 100% sure of the year but i remember booking and going on the flight for that reason. a F100. I would guess maybe mid 80's late 90's possibly.

I think it was after Capital went bust Air UK operated 360's from BHD-LBA and i think it was either just after or just before that they operated the F100 to STN. From what i can remember the F100 service was only once a day.

I have a number of old timetables for that period and was also working close to BHD and have pages and pages of spotting records. None show an Air UK service from BHD. Air UK did fly F27's from BFS to LBA (fly the blue plane was their advertising slogan. I am therefore intrigued that I missed the BHD F100. Can you provide any futher information? My records show that Loganair BaE 146's (registration sequences such as G-LOCA) and Capital to LTN (SD360 to LBA) also with BAe 146 (G-OSKI and G OSUN I think) were the first regular jet services to BHD. I do have a record of an Air UK F27 (G-BLJF) at BHD on 1 November 1988 (I think operating for someone else). Jersey European was still using F27's and SD360's at that time

I can confirm that AirUk did fly out of BHD to Stansted. Many have tried but all have packed it in . Flybe as Jersey European even went so far as to organise ticket offices at BFS until Air Belfast pulled out of the BFS-STN route. They then moved back to the Harbour. They then threw in the towel when faced with EasyJet competition.

I think it must have been for just months rather than even a full season that they operated into BHD from STN but it was defo a F100 in that white n stripe logo from what i can remember. As i remeber the BFS-AMS service was flown as KLMuk I think after the NLM cityhopper thing stoppped, so not techincally Air UK
