Summer 2010 WW flights out. Had a quick look through, Prague doesn't appear, with no available slots from 'w' patterns from CWL (which is how it is to be achieved this winter) or from aircraft based at other airports MAN,BHX and EMA. I thought Prague would be just as popular during the summer, maybe the bookings have not been good for winter.
With FR now up to 3 flights each way this winter (including Sat and Sun) surely Baby will be pushed off EMA/BFS. Always wondered how many people would fly into BHD (0735) on a Sunday morning from EMA (0630)

The WW flight (BFS-PRG) starts on the 4th December with 3 flights a week, and a 4th added during busy periods... so i guess it ends around March time then? kind of a shame im sure they could have had a flight or 2 in summer

BFS-PRG has always been a successful route... usually 130-149 PAX on a 737... but was removed from the EZY schedule suddenly... a move which was copied in other EZY bases... in my opinion it should have stayed.. wouldnt surprise me if EZY brings in back if WW is successful

well, after looking at the EZY schedule on the 18th November 2009 it looks like between 10:00 and 14:00 there will be 3 aircraft movements (an ALC leaving at 10:45 and a LTN arriving at 12:30 and departing for STN at 13:20 or it could be that the LTN nightstops and the free aircraft i mention below takes out the STN) the afternoon seems to be the busy period now after 14:00...

theres 1 EZY aircraft thats "free" from around 09:55 and i cant see it sitting there until the following morning...

as for EI... 2 aircraft leave in the morning and 2 arrive to night stop, but theres a 3rd BFS-LHR depature available for booking... so are we going to see a route threw in to get an aircraft into BFS for the 3rd flight or an empty or W pattern? or it could be that the schedule just isnt finished yet

there is a new route on the cards, but the destination hasnt been revealed yet... if it is somewhere in italy i would put my money on Brindisi, as its pretty much isolated and would be a complete new route for the whole of the UK... MXP was tried by EI at BFS and had mixed results..

Not so sure, but could be proven wrong. Is Brindisi not a bit way out for the conservative Belfast market? Not a well known tourist destination, not sure of business links or VFR traffic. What about Naples?? Thomson have pulled the Neapolitan Coast from Belfast for summer 2010, so maybe a gap there. Or the return of Venice??

If not in Italy, maybe Malta? Lets just hope its not yet another Spanish Costa or Island. Give the slightly more adventurous Northern Irish traveller a bit of variation. Wherever it turns out to be, book and travel in the near future before it gets pulled, once more (Gdansk and Venice!!).

In the summer 2010 brochure it has flight to -
NEAPOLITAN RIVIERA 3 1/2 hrs 44334 TOM 7/14 FRI 06.45 FRI 14.10
7 MAY-24 SEP £70 £85 £105 £30

Same times as the NAPLES went at this year.

Nop - Aer Lingus website shows it went direct BFS-ACE and ACE-BFS.

David1994,
unfortunately Thomson pulled the flight days after releasing their summer 2010 brochure. In the first edition summer 2010 brochure Thomson were planning on not selling Costa Dorada from Belfast. A Reus flight has now replaced the Thomson Airways Naples on Friday morning.

BFS 08.30 - 12.00 REU
REU 13.00 - 14.35 BFS

Aircraft then operates a Tenerife arriving back into BFS at 01.45 Saturday. Would appear a Spanish Costa is a bigger earner!!

The west coast of France is the missing link from Belfast, Bordeaux or La Rochelle. The amount of people who head to this region each year from Northern Ireland seems to be quite high.

As Onur Air and Thomas Cook has proved there is a dalaman and bodrum demand... i think Onur Air carried around 45,000 PAX last year to bodrum

theres plenty of routes that EZY could launch from BFS and be successful on, but i think the thing thats holding them back at the minute is aircraft availability as they dont have any spare crews/aircraft during the peak season (summer), personally i think the BFS-CDG route should be cut down to 4 a week during winter and putting a new route on for the other 3 days, as PAX numbers to CDG last year were appauling at times (lowest was 21 i think)

they seriously need to do something soon, as much as the common N.I traveller likes AGP, ALC, FAO and BCN it wont last forever... id love to go to a bit further than that.. somewhere more interesting.. but i dont want the fuss of transferring at other airports as a delay on 1 of our flights meant we landed as our easyjet flight from GLA-BFS taxi'd to take off which resulted in spending a night in the airport as all hotels were full

Don't think the regional french routes would do very well with 737/airbus operators although flybe could do well on it with Dash 8's as they have done so from the mainland?

This year should be better with Aer Lingus off the route, back to EZY having the traffic to itself, which I don't really think is a bad thing so long as EZY keep the prices realistic. More realistic capacity and supply of seats to the market.

Agree, once or twice a week, with a weekend flight, to La Rochelle or Biarritz on top of Rennes. Especially if well advertised or got a specialist tour operator to help fill the seats. Does anyone know how pleased FlyBE are with the Rennes flights from BHD?? They have been running a few years now.
