BHX - BLL & BZG gone for winter?

The incredible shrinking bhx base for ryanair, well seems to be
shrinking even further.

I checked yesterday and all seemed well but no, from 14/11/09
Billund is not bookable and 23/10/09 Bydogoszcz.

Of course the latter has been added from EMA for winter.

It is possible they have been removed for day changes like
Prague a few weeks back.

It was posted elsewhere the base will be three units down 25%
from last year but that is not even looking likely unless new
routes and extra frequencies are added soon.

Rzesnow is showing weekly in winter but I assume there is a day
change from Wednesday to fit the schedule.

Hmm I seem to remember been told I was wrong about the wonderful coming of ryanair, well bye bye ryanair, maybe we could get it painted on T2, but then again why stoop as low as them!

Why All The Anti Ryr Vitiol ? At Least They Are Providing Jobs Aat Bhx, Albeit, Gha's Are Having To Cut Staff For The Quiet Winter Months, this Was Always The Norm Even Before Ryr Appeared At Bhx. It Is Sound Buisness Sense To Reduce Your Under Utilised Routes Over Winter, Look At Stn It Is Seasonal For Ryr To Reduce Their Ops Over The Queit Months.i Have No Doubt That Ryr Will Increase Bhx Ops Next Summer When Hopefully The Reccession Is On Its Way Out.

Ryanair are very bad for jobs. When they came to BHX other airlines cut back and Coventry shut up pax flights. Once ryanair have reduced the other airlines capacity it then shrinks back to what is profitable. Overall far more jobs lost than if ryanair stayed away. The airport should never have bribed FR to come and left FR to damage the other airlines at EMA.

Wondered why there was a US Airways 757 parked on a remote stand this morning - aside from this morning's arrival just before 7am. Presumably a mechanical problem?

'Crew problems, you can say that again'

Well what was the reason? We're all hanging on this one!

Air France reduce CDG for winter

ATW news online reporting Air France are cutting capacity generally
and BHX and EDI are affected in the UK.

Per their timetable BHX goes from 6 to and EDI from 4 to 3.

BHX has lost the AF5136/7 leaving the following: -

deps 06.30 09.20 11.55 17.25 19.55

Arr 08.20 10.30 13.25 19.15 21.35

Shame about the arrivals gap between 1325 and 19.15.

Summer 2010 showing back to six a day in the week.

CAA stats show plenty of empty seats each month so
hopefully not too much of a loss.

Lyon remains bookable at twice daily in the week.

They are in the middle of a second lot of redundancies at the moment. Most of the Handling agents are shedding staff. Good luck.
The airport put all there vacancies on the web site..

I assume there will be some vacancies coming up in the very near future for people to dismantle parts of T2 when FR finally admit they are in fact shutting the BHX base down? I will be the first to admit I was all for FR coming to BHX but having pretty much seen off Baby and now withering to nothing themselves it seems I was wrong to be so positive. If they do go, what next for BHX in terms of loco? (not to mention loss of routes and pax). Nothing I fear, looks like its more traipsing up the M42 to EMA again in the future......

Didn't notice another US Airways 757 when I landed on the US 726 at BHX on Mon am but for info the flight from Philly did go tech on stand over there, and was stuck there for an hour or so with an electrical fault. Powered down with no air-con or light in hot weather wasn't fun I can tell you!

As it is a rumour network, I heard that there may have been another alcohol related incident involving a US carrier at BHX this week...

Thomson winter downgrades?

The Thomson schedules showing a based 73H!

This is quite a big loss of seats per month, I am surprised this
has not been mentioned before. If the link opens it seems
fairly certain.

Thomson have never based a 73H at BHX before and will it
be staying for summer 2010!

There appears to be no extra flights so it appears to be a net
loss of seats - Grim times.

Yes its true.

As for next summer, if it does stay based, then it will be alongside 2x 757 aircraft, however there's no guarantee of this as yet.

Rumour that EMA will have 2x 757 aircraft and a 73H for next summer (rather than the 2x 738 and 757 this year), so this could be where the extra 757 would come from, however its probably unlikely. We'l no more by end of November time when most of the summer fleet bases are normally finalised.

TOM

2 757 and 1 738.

I take it that this does not include the ex First Choice fleet.

There were 5 757 if you count both for summer S09. 3 x TOM and 2 FCA.

Sorry my bad, I was reffering back to to the winter line-up .

But no, First Choice titles or not they're all the same now .I did mean 4 x 757 and a 73H (for most of the summer period anyway), however lets not forget we also have the 763 over at BHX for the long-hauls and Egypt.
