Baby
Seven based as now until end of May and then number 8 arrives.
This is the same as last year.
To squeeze all the destinations in some have been reduced but there
are still gaps and as FlyboyUk has indicated there could/should/will be more routes to come.
Aberdeen has gone from 12 to 9 a week, Jersey 4 to three, Barcelona
7 to 6, Malaga has reduced until mid July until the EDI & GLA go from
3 to 2 a day (EDI was 4 last summer).
Rome still shows a reduced frequency as does Bordeaux.
Murcia has an increase as does Faro.
Seem to work the aircraft fairly hard but as say a couple of gaps still.
The third Belfast Mo-Fr goes at 21.00 arriving back late, which tells me
they would only do this if absolutely necessary.

BMIBaby at BHX
According to Wednesdays Express and Star there are "more routes to come" at BHX for BMIBaby?? Maybe they make up where Flybes Summer 2008 schedules miserably fail again!!!???

Good news to see flybe adding two more domestic destinations, though I wonder whether the frequencies need to be increased on both routes from what has been announced if they want to attract a broader range of pax. 3x weekly to NQY will most likely not discourage pax from the flexibility of driving or taking the train, and 1x daily INV doesn't really compete with the businessman-friendly T3 timetable - though FR only do EMA-INV daily and seem to be doing ok. Does the Q400 have the range and economics to make some of the dropped BACON routes viable when the dust has settled from the merger like TXL or possibly expanding eastwards?

im sure that if it gets good bookings either FLYBE with increase flights or depending on expansion plans of Airsouthwest it wouldnt surprise me to see them start competing on the route, especially considering flybe are now trying to take on WOW on at least one of WOW's recently announced new routes.

AMM626 the plan mentions rapid exit turn offs but they don't look very 'rapid' on the diagram, or is it just me, would these not be a priority in maximising runway ops?
Taxiway Charlie was going to be an RET, but, there were some technical reasons that would have put the cost up to far at the time, so it became a normal taxiway. Having said that it has increased movements per hour at peak times.
I suppose the problem with long term plans is that they are always open to change....fingers crossed eh?

thanks for the clarification c100, it's good to hear they are planned, it would be yet another wasted opportunity to really increase runway movements capacity if they were not constructed.

BHX-Krakow
Baby haven't even started the route yet and they've already got competition. Centralwings are to fly 3 weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) from Birmingham to Krakow. Flights start on April 1st

Krakow
Centralwings were rumoured about 12 months ago but Warsaw rather than Krakow. Gdansk or Poznan might also work but I suppose Baby could
be covering these (or at least one) in the near future.
Might need a Warsaw if Norwegian pull off the route but I think they still
have not released their full summer 2008 schedule.
Congrats to Aviance re TCX/MYT ....next FCA/TOM any guesses rumours?
FC
Saudi were rumoured but possibly not their own aircraft. A 757 was
mentioned on another forum but even then non seemed definite. Somebody else should be able to give more details on this one.
Legalize posted some info on this thread last week but nothing specific.

TCX Decided
Despite what "GroundhogBHX" said in his earlier posts, TCX have made the right decision & given Aviance the GH contract for another 3 yrs, seems that all the inside talk/rumours from S/Port "contacts" it was never an issue for TCX, now the only decision is who will be the new Stn Mgr?

So Bruppy you say Thomas Cook have made the "right choice " and stayed with aviance at bhx. Just ask the Myt crews who they would have prefered to have stayed with as they have experience of both Swissport and Aviance and we no the answer "SWISSPORT".

Easy now boys....Take it from one who knows..None of you are perfect. There is room for everyone. BHX needs all the HA's. I think Aviance did well to retain the contract.

BHX home site
With all the good news happening regarding airlines expanding at bhx and new ones arriving such as centralwings KRK, Easyjet year round to GVA, Baby announcing KRK,BGO and MAD. Flybe announcing NQY and INV. Why on earth is nothing being put on the homesite of the airport. Publicity is key in making routes succesful and the home site of any airport is key within this. Anyone know why?????

Thomas cook/MYT
From tht t&c's in this contract Aviance will actually be making a loss with this contract. As Swissport were not willing to drop there price (which was low anyway) Aviance were happy just to quote mega low just to get the contract. So basically TCX/MYT are the winners here. I can't belive that Aviance are handling them for free!

Sounds like sour grapes to me. If you know so much about the t+cs of the contract you would not be admitting as much on a forum. Professionalism does not mean a lot clearly. Could be a quiet summer for swissport as swiss, first choice and myt dissapearing. At least you can console yourselves with a ERJ to INV.........................

FCA & Swiss
Barry
I assume that Servisair have the TOM/FCA contract then?
Swiss? Where are they going, back to Servisair?
Don't Air Malta (charter not schedule) finish as well at the end of Oct 08?
Any news on who has or is the front runner for Centralwings?
